I ordered from Aliexpress via "Eternal Team" on 28th May and it is still " Awaiting Shipment ", is this normal and has anyone else had this problem?

I ordered on the 25th from "Xiaomi MC Store" and it still "Awaiting Shipment" think we just need to be patient as they do appear to take their time.

Thanks for your reply, I've just noticed that the deal I bought has just increased from £134 approx to £180 approx now so I wonder if stock is low or out.. We are used to such quick dispatch and delivery in the UK, so its difficult not to become impatient, lol ...

Mine arrived about a week ago. Unbelievably fast delivery. All seems fine - set my region to Hong Kong. Second xiaomi phone after a bottle of whisky was spilt on the last one. Fantastic phones for the price.

Why set the region to Hong Kong? Unless you live there?

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think it's because the phone gets updates quicker/sooner if it is set to Hong Kong.

Anyone got any links to tempered screen protector and cases? Will ebay be ok?
wpj
5 Jun 17#10
Need to be careful with the screen protectors as this has a curved glass and so the correct protector does not fully cover the screen- bit of a pain.

Hi, I've just received this phone and from starting up am getting a faint pink line going down screen? Anyone had this or know how to fix? Thanks in advance

They wont value it at £20 it's too low the value needs to be at a good level so it's covered by insurance incase something happens also UK gift can be upto £38.
DHL do not tend to fall for this gift vlaue stuff anyway they will hold it and ask you to provide proof of purchase or if it's sent at whatever value they wil add £11 admin feee then 20% vat this is why people avoid using this method.
You should of been patient and used slow standard shipping.

Hi everyone mine arrived yesterday (12/6) with no postage issues. ordered on 30/5. phone looks sturdy but it seems to be stuck in bootloader mode. the boot doesn't get any further than the MIUI logo. a Google search suggests not uncommon for Xaomi phones. has anyone else had this problem? what is the fix? have messaged Eternal Team. Will raise a dispute if no response. cheers

Did phone arrive in this condition or did you try to update and then it started happening if the former did phone arrive in sealed box or pre opened box

Try boot to recover by holding power and volume up, you should get a basic menu with an option to factory reset, see if that sorts it. If not EDL mode reflash but you'd probably need a deepflash cable for that. I don't think it's common though, I've never really seen anything about it.
Paulkr
13 Jun 17#18
thanks for the advice. holding power and vol up brings a screen suggesting to plug into pc via USB and go to MIUI suite. however when you do that, MIUI suite doesn't 'find' the phone. holding power and vol down brings fastboot screen but can't seem to get anywhere from there. I think I am heading for a disputed transaction......

i have been in contact with the seller. At the moment they are suggesting either I get a quote to have it fixed (and they may contribute some of the cost) or I should return it to China (at my cost) where they will take a look and try to repair it. Neither option seems fair to me when it is supposed to be a brand new phone and it wasn't working straight out of the box. Have raised a dispute with AliExpress and at some point they may step in. Have asked for a full refund or new replacement but seller is side stepping my requests at the moment (and offering the repair).
dcx_badass
15 Jun 17#25
If you get a refund or partial refund you're welcome to post to me and I'll try my best to recover it for you, I've been flashing phones for years and generally have a lot of success. If you're near Leeds I can try in person. I also have a Deep Flash Cable which you could borrow if you cover postage (and a refundable deposit). *edit* Looks like deep flash cables are now blocked.
It's odd yours goes to the MIUI Suite screen, mine had a MIUI basic recovery with a reset option. I'd try post on reddit.com/r/x…omi there's some very knowledgeable people on there who know a lot about reflashing Xiaomi's.
You can also try/risk this (pretty much guaranteed to work if it's just bad software, but risk damage removing the back of the phone): en.miui.com/thr…tml
But yeah the seller should sort this really, I've always found Aliexpress support pretty good.

thanks a lot for your help. My local mobile phone chap looked at it today and thinks the problem lies with a non-responsive touch screen. this may be correct as it gets stuck on a screen which is looking for a finger swipe. I've asked for a refund or replacement. Eternal Team are proposing a repair which I'm not really happy with. Thanks again for your help.

I assumed from your initial comment, you meant MI logo, and not MIUI, hence thought it could be a bricked/bootlooped phone. But what you're seeing is actually this screen isn't it? If so, and tapping to arrow doesn't bring up the next screen, then non-responsive touch screen seems likely since this MIUI screen is the initial setup and not the phone stuck trying to boot into MIUI. Therefore if you were able to flash a new ROM, I doubt it would fix it.
In a subsequent reply, you said trying to reboot to recovery, brought up a screen suggesting to plug into MIUI suite. I think that just means it just has a locked bootloader which is normal. However did it go straight into that screen or did you see this screen before selecting to go into recovery?
Paulkr
17 Jun 17#30
hi there,. yes the initial MIUI8 screen as you have shown is what comes up and tapping on the arrow does nothing.
I haven't seen the orange/black/blue screen before, just the 'plug into Mi Suite' one.
dreadzone101
17 Jun 17#31
You mentioned that a Google search suggests that it's not uncommon but what you found was likely not the same. Being stuck on the MI logo screen (not MIUI) is common for bricked/bootlooped phones due to ROM being unable to load. Since you're able to see MIUI8 screen, it means yours has loaded fine. So it sounds like it's a hardware issue (faulty touch screen) rather than a software one. Do you have an OTG host cable? Not sure if it would work, but if you were able to connect a mouse or keyboard to the phone via OTG, then perhaps you could use them to proceed to the next screen, which would verify it's a screen problem.
Paulkr
17 Jun 17#32
hi yes, sorry, I'm not a techie so probably used incorrect language. I don't have one of those cables but the chap in the mobile repair shop probably tried that already. he's pretty adamant that the problem is the defective screen. thanks to everyone for your help and advice. I will see how the dispute process plays out.

Should i be worried about the tracking status not changing since 2nd of june or is it just a case of being patient? cheers

20 Jun 17#36
Hi everyone, I raised a dispute with Eternal Team and after some to-ing and fro-ing, it appears that they have agreed to either a refund or replacement with a brand new phone. It's not entirely clear to me how this will play out - they've accepted my proposal (which is for the return of goods and a refund) but their last message was talking about testing the handset and repairing it!
The major issue now is that it looks like I will have to bear the cost of returning the handset (which has never worked) - around £20 for a fully tracked service (www.ipostparcels.com). I was told at the PO that the Royal Mail's regular international tracked delivery service doesn't track the parcel in China. There is a more expensive Royal Mail service (c£60) which didnt appeal.
Thanks again to all for their help and advice. I will let the forum know whether I get my money back, a replacment phone or the old one with some sellotape repairs on the screen :joy:
Cheers Paul

As I said above, I'm still waiting on mine. This is my first experience with Ali express so excuse my daft question.
My last conversation with Eternal team lead to them say I still had X days of purchase protection left. Surely I don't want to wait for that to run out?
I lf I hit the open dispute button on Ali express, it advises me to wait until past the date the purchase protection runs to.

hiya thanks for your wishes. I didn't get around to trying the cable. Eternal Team closed out my dispute and asked me to send the phone back. it is now somewhere (not quite sure where) en-route to China. Used ipostparcels.com. they have taken a week so far. Just an update for anyone wondering. I was able to open a dispute for not recieving the phone on saturday. They ask you to wait for the buyer protection to expire (seems odd but hey ho). They allow 15 days after the protection has expired for you to do so.
