Go to lidl if fhat's more you thing.
Ocado do fantastic ranges of vegan and veggie food that I would otherwise have to go to several different supermarkets to get everything. Saves on fuel, my valuable time and is highly convenient.
If price is the only thing that is important to you, coupled with your time available to troll, I think we can all assume the state of your nutrition and health..

What do you want me to do? Upload data from mysupermarket.co.uk showing the prices? Or have you tried ocado and are disputing my estimate of quality increasing?
Oh hold on. You know what. I think 10% increase may be an exaggeration so it's probably that which you're commenting on. Looking back through mysupermarket orders it averages 7.3% increase over the last 6 shops. I bet that's what you've spotted as an error in my post. I can only apologise. Sorry to have mislead you.

But ok, I agree, they can't beat the price of your local butcher. But as your local butcher doesn't deliver to me in a one hour window for no additional charge. This is a better deal. Same prices as Asda for the items you mention, but with free delivery rather than paying for delivery.
Plus you get 25% off.
And it's not the 13th of June yet so the price I quoted is correct.
I too am not trying to be difficult. It's just that the deal isn't for the items you mention and Ocado isn't as expensive as you'd think. Even on the items you are comparing it's cheaper than Sainsburys, Tesco and Asda.

Ocado offers amongst their own products also waitrose products, lots of vegan options and also ocado delivers fetch products, so you can get the best pet food range with them too. Also ocado offers right now to new customers with their 5th shop free bottle of champagne or box of chocolates. Not sure if thats national and if its a long run offer or just atm.

Re. the minced beef, I'm comparing Angus 5% fat minced beef with Angus 5% fat minced beef, which is effectively like for like.
As for the chicken, well, the one you're showing me is £16.29/kilo with 15% off if you buy before 13-06, so it's actually more than the example I gave. Even with the discount it still costs £14/kilo which is almost double that of a local butcher.
I'm not trying to be a knob, but am merely trying to point out that these prices are not competitive and people looking for a good deal need to be aware of that.
Even with the 25% discount it's vastly over-priced

The above is fine if your butcher supplies Omega 3 Free range chicken? Otherwise the item you should be comparing to is this one:
You'd have to be insane to use Ocado if you're a bargain hunter. With the 25% off it just about brings their prices to the every day prices you'll get in other supermarkets. No way is this a deal. Cold.

Baby milk manufacturers can't be seen to promote formula over breastfeeding. By offering a discount it could persuade some mothers to swap to formula , so it's not allowed.
Promotion is allowed (I think) on follow-on milks

I was interested until I saw the cost of things. Jeez. A quick comparison of three or four of the most common items we buy shows Ocado as almost double the price.
£16/kilo for free range chicken
£12/kilo for lean minced beef
To give you an idea how overpriced this is, you can buy 5 kilos of free range chicken for just over £30 from a butcher, and lean Angus minced beef if about £7/kilo in Aldi. Same stuff, different packaging

A whole free range chicken starts from £4.79 a kilo on ocado. Free range chicken breasts £13.83 a kilo. That's less than asda. Not sure where the £16 came from. Still not as cheap as your butcher. But not sure they'll deliver to me in a one hour delivery window.

Following ec9wrr, lean beef mince on Ocado starts from £8/kilo. Not a big fan of online grocery shopping as well but I do think you are just mess around.

It provides poor choice without a doubt, and you'll find nothing like the range of low sodium/low sugar/organic/vegan range of products. If you're lucky you can get some reduced sugar baked beans so I guess it's not all bad....

Its not just the cost. Or even quality. I changed to getting groceries delivered, as it stopped me shopping with my belly and buying stuff I don't need and over eating :smiley:
But the great thing about Ocado (versus "the others") is that they deliver from distribution centres, not from local stores.
What this means in practical terms is you have way fewer (if any) missing items due to no stock available.
I either have 0 or 1 substitutions per week, mostly 0.
I'll take that convenience over having to go to the shops to get the missing bit everytime.
Oh, and the Ocado app is both brilliant - and available on all platforms - including Windows Phone.

Well thats a diabolical reply to say that the likes of Lidl offeriing groceries at cheaper price provide poor nutrition. Had you even carried out any research (or even shopped at the likes of Lidl) you will find that their products offer very good value for money without compromising quality.

I honestly don't find it that expensive. It depends what you buy. I've moved from Asda, to Sainsburys, to Ocado over the last 12 months. I'd say that my bill has increased by probably 10% or so from Asda to Ocado. But the quality of food has increased by much more.
