Just picked up one of these. AND YES I know there are loads of folk who **** off Lidl's Parkside brand but I have got quite a few of their power tools and never had a problem with them...I also own a few Bosch and Worx tools and have had Makitta and Dewalt etc and yes they are a bit nicer but also much more expensive. With a 3 year garantee you cant go wrong for home DIY use.
The basic Worx saw is the same price but this is 50 watts more and also comes with 2 other blades and a long hose to connect to vac.and a laser which projects a sighting line, which only the more expensive Worx ones have...in a nice case as well.
It has a very nice depth cut setting method and feels well made
I have been looking for one of these for a while (my similar 'Exact Saw' was stolen from my van) as most jobs dont need the full depth capabilty of my full sized Evolution circular saw and this can be used one handed.
Lidl/Aldi dont stock these plunge saws very often...drills/jigsaws/grinders etc yes are regularly stocked but not very often these plunge saws...hence my trip this teatime as they often get Thursdays stock out on Wed eve.
Expect they may sell out quickly.

Got quite a few Parkside tools. Only ever had a problem with a battery operated multitool that wouldn't charge. Emailed them and sent them the receipt. They sent me a complete new one so got 2 tools and one charger. Bargain

How long after you bought it?
I bought one of their drills last year - its been great - demolished a couple of walls - but I now can't get it to go hammer only. As they come into the shops rarely I was wondering how the 2 year guarantee worked.

Hi, I also fancy one of these but already have a parkside jigsaw. I am wondering where this would be useful. I am only a beginner in DIY world and as you say this is a rare product, I wonder I should stock it.

Other than a drill I would say this will be one of my most used tools....depends what you mainly do but I find I am doing straight cuts in wood up to 3/4" thick like cutting/lifting the odd floorboard (like Emeye above)
and cutting ply and will save me getting the big circular saw out and easier to get in confined spaces
Good for tiles as well with the diamond blade

I have the previous version of this.
I usually cut only 15mm on first pass and then full depth.,
Lot less scarey then a full size circular saw.
Ideal for cutting boards and rabbets and long straight edges

Seems about the same as even larger circular saws noise wise...quite noisy...and as long as you take it slowlish on the 20mm ply and the blade is good I cant see a problem as the max depth is 25mm.....just about to cut some 20mm chip board to give it it's first use so will edit this with reult when done :smiley:...UPDATE: just zipped through some 20mm chipboard and tongue a groove floorboard no probs :smiley:

Although I havent had to return a Parkside power tool I have had to return a Powerfix electric tyre inflator ( broke quite quickly) and a twin set of airbeds and a Livano Lux Solar powered external light to Lidl...I got a refund at the till for the tyre inflator as they were then out of stock...I then bought a new one when they were back in (as they seemed good quality) and its been fine for 2 years...I got a refund at the till as well for the airbeds (faulty from new) but didnt buy again as they seemed poor quality.I also got a refund for the light ....never really responded properly to movement...bought a much better one elsewhere.
At Aldi I have had to return an LED head torch (faulty after 3 weeks) refund at the till...kept the money as it was poor quality. and a Workplace type DAB radio...ok for 6 months then stopped ...but it was raining pretty hard that broke it....again refunded at till ..I liked it while I had it so I bought another when back in stock (though it was a slightly different design) ...been alright since for about a year now.
So not actually had to return anything over 2 years old but no questions were asked at Lidl or Aldi and was refunded with no probs...other than moaners in the queue at the the till having to wait while the staff sorted a refund :smiley:...
So if the faulty item isnt in stock you will get a refund...and even it is in stock and just want the refund coz you dont trust another you can just keep the money.
So cant see any prob right up to its 3 year garantee as long as you have kept receipt (tip...I always take a pic as well and put on PC as some receipts can fade over time)....I like Lidl & Aldi because of this.

Yes it could...in fact I saw that very thing ...a very long cutting guide/channel and clamps in Lidl or Aldi the other week and was tempted to buy one :smiley:

Just a note for anyone who wants one - you'll need to be quick. The Lidl I went to at 9 AM had two on the shelf and maybe space for another one, so I think they only had a maximum of three into store this morning.

Check the packaging/manual for warranty details as in my experience, if some months/year after purchase, they want you to use the contact number/service centre rather than refund in store.

Thanks to pubquiz & Rickardo for the tips - I'll dig out the receipt (& if not faded will take the tip to snap it) and see if I can find the manual for the service centre- My main problem is that the drill is in Spain so the chances of it being in stock when I am there is pretty low - so when I saw haighty had had one posted it seemed a real break!

I haven't opened mine yet, but the Lidl web pics show the blades are 85mm with a 10mm bore. A quick Google shows that size is easily available.

It doesn't cut worktop depth so that's main reason for wanting the proper plunge saw
