They have offered me a £5 refund? I would prefer the item I paid for at the price I paid, although having an extra controller for £24 is attractive. What do you reckon I should do?

Thanks for this OP! I wonder does it come with a BT dongle or should I buy one?

It won't come with a dongle as they are designed primarily for the Xbox One (which doesn't need a dongle) the PC support is more like a bonus extra....
I received mine - it's really dirty, just like a controller you would expect from CEX! Also it's the original model 1537 in a 1708 box. So no headphone socket and no bluetooth for me :disappointed:
I have put in a return with eBay...

I've had mine, white looks new batteries still sealed. Problem is it will switch the Xbox on, then the controller shuts down. Fine with a cable in, I updated it via the Xbox ok. Sending it back.

Has anyone received theirs? I just got a blue one in and the condition is dreadful - dirty, sticky stuff all around headphone socket and there's a loose part inside too. Sending it back for refund. For some reason I'm still tempted to order a white one and chance it!!

I paid £29.99 for the "original" Xbox One controller through a Groupon deal posted here, so this is a good price - thanks OP!
Does anyone know if I can use the BT to connect to a Steamlink? I read the S works after an update but can't find confirmation on this model. Thanks.

You can put the Xbox One thumbsticks on the 360 I believe as an upgrade. Agree on 3.5mm+Bluetooth.
The recon Xbox one S controller may have a little more weight to it as it's a slightly more premium halfway house between elite and a standard controller with textured grip on the back.
Yes thumbsticks aren't as tight as 360 as they moved away towards the PlayStation thumbstick modules. :disappointed:
Re: trapping have you tried trigger tread to give you a bit more height on the triggers? May be just enough to stop trapping maybe? The adhesive can be weak so perhaps supergluing them on would be better if you find they really help during testing and you want them on permanently.
They're pretty good controllers. They do feel a bit cheap and flimsy in some ways but overall the design is an improvement over the 360 (it fits my hands better, at least). My main complaint is the huge gaps next to the triggers when you push them in fully, sometimes catching your fingers between them and the outer case. That and the thumbsticks seem way too loose, but maybe that's just me. I do like the grips on the thumbsticks though - and you can't beat Bluetooth connectivity and the 3.5mm input is really handy.

The last refurbished deal I got a perfect controller but someone else got one that looked like bogies were in the box and the controller was disgusting wasn't from tescos though

Thank you, finally able to order one to replace my 8 year old xbox 360 controller.

Some people prefer the Xbox 360 controller, although that's in comparison to the 3.5mm/non-3.5mm as the thumbstick resistance was far lower than the 360.
The Bluetooth ones are 90% as resistant as the 360 controller.

anyone has experience with refurbished controller from tesco?

My guess is they'll be just the same as any other retailer for refurbished goods. The item will basically be brand new unless stated on the listing that it's a low grade refurb.
