The Merlin Pass summer sale starts on the 1st of June. We bought our passes during the sale last year and will probably renew this year.
The BIG SUMMER SALE will start on the 1st June at 10am and will end at midnight 3rd July online, and at the relevant closing times on the 3rd July via the phone lines and in the attractions.
Both new and renewing Standard and Premium Merlin Annual Passes can be purchased during the BIG SUMMER SALE.
When we bought ours at Alton Towers we got the standard ticket cost knocked off each pass even though we were using Sun and Clubcard tickets so there is a further saving to there if you have tickets already.

been renewing these for over a decade, this was our final year, the parks are in dire states right now, perks dialed right back, customer satisfaction and the "magic" you're meant to feel in these listed attractions are few and far between now.

Remember to go through either TopCashBack or Quidco as you can get roughtly £10 per pass back.
Better to pick up the passes rather than upload a picture as the 12 months will start from when you pick them up rather than pretty straight away when you upload a photo.

Agreed. We got ours this year after a year out and I'm shocked at how poor the service is now. No longer feel like even a customer. Just a hindrance in their parks. Shrek is terrible. Sherlock Holmes at MT's is lame to the extent where the performers seem embarrassed. Air. Or whatever it's called now at AT hasn't worked for ages. When you say no magic I get exactly what you mean...

Oh doesn't sound good. We are looking at doing all this stuff and longleat others etc instead of spending loads of money all inclusive abroad for one week. If this gets us all into the park whenever we want all is good just need to check tc's to see when they exclude

What do you want to know? Premium passes will be around £129 and have no restrictions on dates but standard passes at around £109 have restriction in London for August and bank holidays. (Family prices per person quotes)

Likewise, I've been getting these annual passes for the last 3 years but no more. Obviously Merlin is a business and out to make money but that seems to be all they are about these days. They charge extortionate entry prices and then try to sell you fast passes for even more money just to avoid their artificially long queue lines created in order to sell more fast passes. A lot ot the attractions are either closed or don't work as they should and they don't seem interested in investing any of their profits back into the businesses.

Are the Summer sales better than the Winter ones? As it's an annual thing I'm guessing if you get it during a sale then you can renew during the next sale 12 months later, so which part of the year is best for getting your first one?

Does anyone know if this can be stacked with a corporate code?
wibble to michelle_gilbert2109
25 May 17#27
No the corporate codes only discount from the full price although during sales they normally increase the discount slightly to keep that route slightly cheaper. As an example in the last sale standard passes were £109, with Corporate Discount they were £97 (£139 - 30%) close to the family pass price.

You can bring a non pass holder for £15 either 3 times per pass or you can use them all at once and bring up to 3 at any one time. Once they have been used , you can use friends and family perks via the merlin web site and get around 50% off

I am going to Alton towers next weekend for 3 days (thanks to your previous deal  ) and will be picking up a premium merlin pass.So are you saying I will be able to use 2 of the vouchers that day at the same resort to get other family members in for £15 each ?
The reason I ask is that from what I have read, the 3 x £5 fast track vouchers can't all be used at the same park,it's 1 for Alton towers,1 for Thorpe park and 1 for chessington.
Also I don't suppose you or anyone else knows if at Alton towers this year if they are doing the fizzy drinks refill bottles, where you get free refills all day ?

Hi. OK so this is a grey area... In theory yes, you can collect your pass and then use two of the three ( or even all three) to get friends in on that day for £15 each... However in practice this may not work as the premium packs that come with the pass sometimes run out and have to be posted out to you. This would throw a massive spanner in the works. Also these "share the fun" vouchers are only valid for one day, so you would have to purchase bounce back tickets @ £10 each for the remaining two days, should you with for the same people to return. I would suggest taking a BOGOF voucher with you just in case the pack have run out.
The £5 fast track vouchers are not the same as the £15 share the fun vouchers... These are separate and you are correct in saying that you get 1x£5 off fast track at each of the three parks in the pack.
You are also entitled to a special friends and family price for tickets via the merlin perks website, which is up to (almost always is) 50% gate price. You have to be there with your pass at the attraction to pick these tickets up just FYI.
Your last point on the refills... Yes they do 2 types of refills for soft drinks. The first being one that costs a one off flat rate of £7 (£8 at some parks) and this can be refilled up for free all day but are only valid for one day.
The 2nd being for pass holders ONLY. These cost a one off price of £1.99 and are refilled up at a cost of £0.75p. The advantage of the pass holders ones are that once you have paid the £1.99, you can bring them back all year and just pay £0.75p for a refil. If you drink less than 9 refills a day, the pass holders one is for you. These are available from guest services on the right of the park as you enter towers street... Lastly have fun and remember to book breakfast now so you gate a decent time slot... Oh and remember early ride time is at 9am

Thanks so much for your reply
With regards to going into the park for the 2nd and 3rd day,is it £10 for each day,or are you only allowed to get back in one time for £10 and then have to pay full price again for the 3rd day.i hope that makes sense.
As for the share the fun passes, issue was hoping to use 2 on the first day and then use 1 on a trip next month to thorpe park.
I've got one more question to test your knowledge
My son is disabled and I know you can get one carer in for free when you pay for the disabled person, now does this still apply if I were to pay for my son to get in using a share the fun voucher, and th3n my partner get in as his carer,or is it only for full gate price. Also can my partner get in free as a carer for him on the 2nd and 3rd day and only pay £10 for him ?
Sorry for all the questions, but I want to make sure I get it all straight in my head before we go as there is a lot of money to be saved by taking advantage of all the discounts.
Not booked a breakfast table yet so will do that asap, but have booked up for the roller coaster restaurant, just hope it's better than some of the recent reviews on trip advisor.

Yes, you can get a bounce back ticket on a bounce back ticket. You get them from inside the park so they rarely ask for your old ticket as you are already in.
My knowledge on carer's tickets isn't so good but I do know that your Son is entitled to a carers ticket for free and I cant see that they would discriminate by letting someone in on a bounce back ticket but not let a carer in just because of a disability. There is a fantastic group on facebook called "Merlin Annual Passholders Group" which has almost 29k members. You just ask away and I'm sure someone will have the answer you are looking for. It starts when you visit and collect the tickets. We ordered at the beginning of the sale and collected a couple of weeks later the expiry was from collection date. Done a afternoon at legoland it was busy so didn't get on a lot of rides I would have been very annoyed paying £140 for us to wait 45 minutes or longer for a good ride and not getting to see the whole park so these tickets really do pay for themselves as we will be visiting a lot
