I'd say pay a few more pounds and get the Mi Box - it's an 'official' Android TV product and works really well

have you bought a mibox? if so, where from? I can only see ones from China on ebay.
H265 yes .......but 4k H264 can often hit 80Mbps plus....
There are plenty of players out there with Gigabit NIC's...why bother with one that is only fast ethernet.....

Thinking of replacing HTPC with one - any reason this would struggle with things like Dolby Atmos on the audio track ?

Depends how you are playing it back....some apps struggle with encoded hd audio like DTS X or Atmos and will downmix

Never had an android box so wondering if these would run apps like plex / spotify and minecraft ?
If I installed emulators and Bluetooth joypad would it work ?
Thanks

Think of an android tablet without a screen but with a video out connector instead. If you can Install it on a tablet you can install it on one of these.
Personally I'm not sold on them for TV use, I prefer something like a Roku for Plex but can understand the appeal If you want Kodi and it's pirate streaming addons....
With an emulator, gamepad and some roms they are good retro gaming machines though.

Yes. Given the CPU speed , ram and Bluetooth you can.

10/100 NIC is a big disappointment though....

I'ts 4 times more than bandwidth needed by 4K video. And let's face it - most people will use it for KODI where most things are 720p stereo anyway.
