If you're looking to get the kids out your hair/scare them a bit and wear them out whilst letting your hair down then this is for you.
May half term offer with Night in a local hotel, 2 days at Thorpe park and a few extras (depending where you stay) from as little as £50pp
Example
is only 2 miles away from park - you can stay in the Shark hotel (on-site) and get early fast track but more expensive

Went Thorpe Park last year, stayed in the onsite hotel thing, would go again, only thing was on the second day, because we did everything several times on the first day, we just did everything again and left at around 11:30. To be fair I would rather do everything too many times than be queuing for 2 days and not get on everything once, but it'd be nice if they had a couple shows on throughout the day or something. I'd happily do it again in a year or two when there's new attraction(s), we paid around £50-60 for 2 days and a night on site, but the 200 mile drive means I'll stick to single days at Alton Towers and Blackpool for now.
EDIT: Voted hot btw ;]

Very few of those hotels are anywhere near the park at all, many are an hour or more away. Those that are nearby are not particularly good.

No - stick to Chessington or Legoland if you must.
