Shame it doesn't come with any of the DLC but that's a cracking price otherwise!

Better graphics than Mass Effect: Andromeda I hear?
CD Keys are grey market. These may not be authorized keys. Typically CD Keys operate by buying keys in cheaper regions and then reselling them here. Proceed with caution.

Bought a fair few keys off cdkeys and not once had a problem. People bring up the grey market thing a lot on here but I've only seen one game where people had legitimate issues because of it which was Witcher 3 (which people had issues getting from a whole host of sites).
By all means be cautious but even in the unlikely event you have a problem AND cdkeys refuse to sort it out paying by paypal means you can get pretty much 100% get a refund if necessary.

Fantastic set of games and by far my favorite franchise. ME1 is the weakest of the three as the gameplay feels very clunky compared to modern games but ME2 and ME3 are nothing short of masterpieces.
Fun fact of the day:
ME3 is considered the ground zero of the shady practice of "Day 1 DLC" where upon release developers will include additional content locked behind a paywall. Many gamers (and consumers) believe additional payment for development past release is acceptable but all development prior to release should be included in the original sale price.
The DLC in question was called "From Ashes" and came with an important story and a Prothean squadmate, I won't ruin anything but let's just say Prothean's are "kind of a big deal" in the Mass Effect universe.
Also the original ending sucked major horse dong I've never seen such a backlash against a gaming company, it's been patched and improved on since.

+1. I chose to replay the trilogy again on Xbox, as the DLC is on offer more frequently. Currently on ME2

If Origin is still available for £20 per year on PC would this be a better offer? All three MEs there are the Digital Deluxe versions which I assume include all the DLC.

Nope, the only way to play all the Mass Effect trilogy DLC is to either buy it at full price (in BioWare points) or pirate it.
Both work, neither is ideal.

Played ME2 on PS3 last week for first time, awesome game. After finishing it I downloaded ME3, was surprised that there was still lots of people playing online.

It's Origin keys so I would be surprised if you couldn't buy all the additional DLC as normal on Origin.

You can buy the DLC for 2 and 3 but you have to use "Bioware points" which, inconveniently, you can only buy in multiples of 800 (£8 ) despite the DLC itself costing different amounts. There's a few bits of free DLC for both those games which is nice but they never seem to put the DLC on offer and have no season passes which is a shame as it's ridiculously overpriced normally.
All that said you get way more than your money's worth with just the base games at this price so it's still a great deal.

If one were to consider sailing the high seas, would they be able to combine this paid-for trilogy pack with the DLC, or would it need to be all obtained as one?

I'm pretty there may be a way to sail the seas to obtain dlc and apply them to this trilogy from CDkey. Try google.
