At the end of the day do your own research read the reviews and user forums and make your decision. I was either going to get the lg b6 or the cheaper Samsung ks7000 and it came down to if I bought the Samsung in a years time would I be wishing I payed a little bit extra for oled. I went for the b6 and it was the right decision for me, I watch a lot of movies tv and games and have never had any issues apart from the slight hum from the speakers when there is no input switched on. I've also learned that the 6 series will support the new live tv hdr Hybrid Log-Gamma when it eventually launches.
Amazing. A thread about the B6 and C6 filled with specimens moaning about the E6.
My B6 suffers from none of the supposed issues mentioned above, so can only presume people see threads like this, get put off thinking that the B6 is severely flawed, then regurgitate this nonsense in every B6 thread thereafter.
I hope that no one was put off this decent deal by some of the prats spouting irrelevant garbage here.
thanks. yes I got it from a retailer. I've emailed LG to see if and when we may be getting the 04.31.00 firmware upgrade the Korean's have. its working on usa models and I'm reading nothing but positive reviews on it. hopefully this irons allot of issues out I'm currently having. I'll report back on reply. I know it doesn't apply to b6 owners but c6 it does

I've seen lip / audio sync errors whilst testing during setup on my B6 yesterday. I think it was on the Netflix test movie thing. Everything else seemed fine (iPlayer, Plex, Amazon, Netflix shows)

Under consumer law (presuming you bought the TV new from a retailer and not private seller) will cover you, but it's up to you to prove its faulty and you'll initially have to foot the bill for a professional assessment.

I have just tried some tests inc Peppa Pig... lol and I have none of the issues mentioned above using the latest OTR firmware on a 55" B6.
My software is 04.31.10 which matches the latest on the LG site.
Tbh if I had tearing like mentioned above I would have returned it as faulty.

well just tried de judder 1 de blur 3 on this motion video and it's far from perfect. as
(can you read me?) shoots fast backwards the word just goes horribly muffled. I'm seeing the same thing mostly on kids cartoons. mine is the e6. knowing my luck I have a dodgy panel. only 1 year warranty on mine. do LG charge to come out?

2 May 17#49
Had my C6 for 3 weeks now and am very happy with it. There are some issues obviously but then there are issues with every TV.
The stuttering does not happen on my C6 in my usage pattern. I read an article that it doesn't happen in PC input mode which is where I do all my gaming. PC input is also needed for Chroma subsampling. Also Ultra deep colour has to be enabled.
I have no stuttering with my BT box which outputs UHD 50FPS 10bit in set-top box mode. I have truemotion off for everything except sports.
I havn't tested netflix or amazon apps etc.

2 May 17#48

I'm saying more B6 owners appear happier with motion than E6 owners and this is put down to the different chips - some reviews have said as much too - and noted an earlier FW which dealt with this i.e. on 24fps material. If you read the forums you'll see this too. However, the B6 (and some E6's) is noted as having vignetting depending on the panel you get. Or the panel lottery as it's been dubbed. Both sets can have troubles with using ARC and some E6 owners have had troubles with in apps causing lip sync errors which have yet to be FW corrected.
encaser
2 May 17#44
The B6 and E6 use a different system on chip so they operate differently and so with their respective FW. The latest firmware is only available if you copy it to usb from the LG website and it's not the one the US forums are saying is corrective to motion for E6's; as that's a Korean FW that they can use due to having same tv tuner / region settings. How long before that makes it for UK sets is anyone's guess as the latest one still isn't OTA.

Are you saying that the B6 has the motion fixed owing to the Realtek soc but the E6 which is LG soc also used on the C6 hasn't ?

The latest firmwares have fixed all the issues, my B6 is judder and motion blur free.

one2omg
2 May 17#24
No, I don't. I did a lot of research in to OLED TV as I was gonna get one for my kitchen/family room but my research has concluded at "i'm going to wait".
Ultimately, even at £1500 it's a wedge of cash for something the looks like they are just starting to fix now (according to the comments on here). Like I said, the new models are out now and I may look in to them. I'm more tempted to see what Panasonic has up it's sleeve, to be honest.

Maybe a fix has been issued ?
daveykinetic
2 May 17#19
it's just a shame. I've had to settle for a happy medium with mine. turned de blur up to 10 and de judder 2. I'd rather have less blur than judder but unfortunately the 2 settings do not go hand in hand. I've tried this everything trying to get this motion video to move smoothly but I can't. when the words go backwards fast that's when the muffled sort of tearing happens. this is what I see on peppa pig lol. https://youtu.be/vigX3H7WX5Q
if anyone can get this motion video to work perfectly please let me know as I've given up on it myself

daveykinetic
2 May 171#14
I have an e6. I completely agree with one2omg. lots of judder with true motion off especially on streams like Netflix. fiddling with de judder and de blur settings smoothes things out but that's when the screen tearing starts happening. perfect example with true motion settings on is when my son watches pepper pig. screen tearing stands out a mile when the characters move their mouths and that's through a satellite box. turning true motion off stops it but that's when the judder is horrendous. I bought an oled as I was convinced my KS7000 had motion blur. turns out the oled is just as bad. if not worse. the only Plus the oled has over the Samsung is the deep colours and excellent contrast. hdr Is worse as detail is lost with lack of brightness Imo. didn't notice any input lag on the e6 compared to Samsung with gaming. just hope LG come up with a fix for motion issues as apart from this it's a nice TV. it also can't handle 24p over 60p sources where as the Samsung can. for the price of the oled it should be able to do everything imo. lots of reports of motion issues as shown here http://www.avsforum.com/forum/#/topics/2711233?page=40
