Expecting this to go cold fast as eGlobal but wanted to post for anyone out there needing a new phone and who loves their audio quality. Hadn't this for a week now myself and absolutely love it. Was previously using the HTC 10 for reference.
Works on most UK networks as it is compatible with most bands. On O2 myself and very good coverage.
Few significant improvements over the UK version. Mainly - Quad Dac. Really makes a difference. Driving may Oppo Pm-3 and Sony Mdr-1a. Very good quality audio and a huge step up from the majority of phones - 64gb on board storage. More the merrier - Duel sim. For those who carry a work phone and want to combine personal and work phone.
As mentioned I ordered via eGlobal and no issues. This is my 2nd purchase off them and quite happy.
I was previously using a standalone DAP but getting rid of this now due to the audio ability of this phone
From unboxing videos I've seen the Asian model comes with earphones in the box.
I don't believe the US/EU version do.

Price drop: Now £376 for white, £377 for Black/Silver. Free screen protector. You can also use codes to bring price down, Happy3Years seems to still work for 3% discount. 'Easy' for £10 off. 'Papa7' for £7 off. (Note: You can't stack codes!)
To those of you who bought it and have received it: Did you pay for insurance shipping, or opt for free delivery?

Ordered on 25/05 and received today. Got platinum one for £390.99 plus TCB tracked at £9.86. So far so good.
Used Xperia Z2 before which is a brilliant phone but couldn't stand the bezels so chosen this one over ZX Premium. Hope G6 will serve that long (nearly 3 years with Z2).

UK credit card co's can be no different to any UK-based merchant when it comes to the occasional requirement of having to remind a company of its obligations. I had a similar brush aside from CC co when I made my first S75 claim, but a polite ref to both the legislation and its interpretation saw a prompt resolution of full refund, and I kept the busted kit.

Just be aware though it may not be straightforward in practice - a friend bought a grey import LG G4 (hadn't realised it at the time), had trouble getting warranty support so went through his credit card company who didn't seem to understand a grey import, even after a lot of contact going back and forth. I do know some people who have managed to get a warranty repair done but it took several months for the phone to be shipped back to its original country and then shipped back.
Perhaps others have a smoother run with their credit card companies but I'd still treat a grey import as no warranty and if someone does manage to get a refund or repair it's a bonus, it's something to weigh against the cost saving.

24 May 171#55
Mmm, maybe it was a little rambly. Gross summary: if applicable, pay EGC directly by UK credit card and any warranty or refund is sorted by credit card company. No need to even contact EGC after purchase.
snappyfish
24 May 17#54
Can you type that in English?
AndyRoyd
24 May 17#53
If you look at the earlier exchanges between BillyBoomhauser and myself, it appears that there may be a credible direct debtor-creditor-merchant arrangement when paying the merchant directly via UK-sourced credit and in such circumstances UK-enforceable S75 protection would apply where the UK-based credit provider (typically: credit card company) is legally obligated to jointly and severally assume all warranty and other merchant obligations.

I've taken the plunge. I was holding out for the oneplus 5 but heard it's only 1080p. Just worried that the price of LGs always seems to drop like a brick.

Based on earlier discussion about who processes payments for EGC, looks like a direct payment via credit card will qualify for UK-enforceable S75 protection which far exceeds anything Paypal or a debit card can offer.

Just bought LG V20 dual sim from T-Dimension for £347 also in Hong Kong, Phone was delivered from UK by DPD so no worries about import fees, paid by paypal, the only problem was that the account tracking did not progress and it read processing from the minute i paid until it was delivered.

I was just about to post this. This price is for the Platinum version. The white version is a bit cheaper @ £389.93, and the black version a bit more expensive @ £410.30. I would've gone for the black, but it broke the psychological £400 barrier for me. The difference between this and the UK model is amazing. And at around £100 cheaper, give or take.
I had actually signed up for the UK version on contract with O2 earlier today, but cancelled as soon as I saw this price.
Something to consider as well if you're a returning customer. They have a "rewards" scheme running, which should bag you and extra £35 off if you spend over £280. They say this is deducted automatically at checkout, but I never got it and I have raised a case with them. I've probably got a snowball's chance, but if you don't ask, and all that. Another 2% quidco as well.
I've used eGlobal a few times before and have always found them to be totally professional, keeping in touch throughout the ordering and shipping process, and checking to see if everything is in order once delivery is complete. And their prices, as you can see, are second to none. And I always pay with paypal for the added security.

i dont have the lg g6 far east version (and i was gutted the uk didnt get the dac) however having had the uk version g6 for 2 weeks my only main Gripe is the poor quality of the camera in low light, particularly the front facing camera. i've yet to take an indoor selfie that i havent immediately deleted. very fuzzy/grainy - the ffc on the G4 was markedly better.. ive taken some very good well lit pictures, but any unexpected movement or low light and they are just awful.
From what i've read the forthcoming htc11 is also high quality audio.

22 May 17#19
Thanks. I'm sure you can see I'm trying to confirm if WP is acting as a processor for EGC or as an "agent" (obviously agent may detrimentally impact on S75 cover). Possibly final Q: when you can view your CC statement, I would appreciate if you could confirm the payee as WP or EGC. Cheers.

They sell new products unless specified. This is steal considering it's better than the UK version with the Quad DAC.
I've heard eGlobal are a bit hit and miss but most of the issues stem from poor turnaround times (we're talking months and months) for stuff that needs to be RMA'd and issues regarding delivery times during busy periods.
I'd say use a credit card for the extra protection if you use eGlobal to be on the safe side.
