I could not agree more with this comment OP. I get sick and tired of seeing deals trashed on the altar of personal opinion rather than the real point, that is, that if just one person sees a post like this and decides it is right for them, then the OP deserves support for posting and the site has fulfilled its true purpose. The buyer will decide if they are happy with the product and the price offered. Surely that's what counts.
Sure, constructive and negative comments are fine if they are based on some semblance of fact and are at the very least couched in a way that doesn't just disrespect the OP or other members that like his/her post. I've no idea yet whether or not this post will lead to a purchase, but I so agree with 'ihatebingo' that I am compelled to comment and give heat.
Wait for my comment to get dissed now. No problem. Point made and I won't feel bad for making it.

From when I bought it there are now several official roms with active maintainers. You could even say it's slightly better supported than the Mi 5 in some cases.
Excellent phone anyway, good to see a load of the 820 Chinaphones coming to Sub 150 or thereabouts.

I had this fault and haven't yet managed to get a refund from PayPal via bang good. You wouldn't believe the hoops they've had me jumping through.
I thought I fixed it at one point by flashing the Chinese stock rOM but it came back and it made the phone unusable
I'm now completely torn as to whether to take another punt on this (when it worked i absolutely loved it) with a credit card instead of PayPal or go to the three shop and get a P2

Here is a video for unlocking the bootloader and flashing TWRP.
This guy regularly review different ROMs for ZUK and Redmi Note 4
Hope this would help someone.
Sold my Note 4 to music magpie for £155 and bought this phone for £131 from banggood. Using the Moto E (2nd Gen) whilst I am waiting for my ZUK Z2 to arrive and I have to admit, the E is a pretty good handset for a budget phone and the reviews out there backs up that claim!
It goes to show that getting all these high end smartphones are good if you're going to be constantly watching videos, taking photos/videos and playing games providing you have the budget to do so. Other than that, for me, if you need a smartphone to do whatsapp/instagram and the ilk, browse the internet and make general calls, these good spec'd budget/chinese branded phones are more than enough!
Seeing how you hukd'ers are going the good sim only deals with these good spec'd chinese branded phones route, has made me skip getting a new branded phone on contract. I decided the Note 4 will be the last and bought the ZUK Z2

That's speculation from analysts who work for an unrelated company. There's absolutely nothing from Lenovo to support this.

My understanding is that Volumerate is part of deal extreme and makes it for shipping to EU direct with Free Expedited delivery. Gets the delivery down to around 7-15 days from what I have read. However you do pay an additional shipping charge, so probably not much more value than buying direct from deal extreme?

No B20, Big Negative. Buy Zuk z2 pro. Same phone but with B20.
Maybe I'm asking too much but just the fact it doesn't take good low light pictures is enough to put me off! I don't mind paying more for a decent camera - not sure any of these China phones have capable cameras to be honest.
My sister has the ZTE Axon Elite and it similarly struggles in low light.
(Had a look though, and the photo samples do look pretty good).

ultrak3wl to balsingh458
7 May 173#42
Digital phones (2G) originally used the 800Mhz radio band (band 20) but then as popularity took off there were blocks of higher frequencies made available. The higher the frequency the more the data rate so 4G likes to use these newer bands. The upside of band 20 however is that despite it's theoretical less data capacity it penetrates buildings very well, hence the networks using it for 4G in some areas. Where I live it means the difference between signal and no signal.

I almost replaced my note 4 with a ZUK2 but in the end I went with a Lenovo P2 , camera not quite as good as the old Galaxy Note 4 but the build quality and MASSIVE battery life on the P2 more than make up for it. With Low to mid range phones as good as these that Lenovo are releasing buying a Flagship nowadays is a mugs game....
the P2 does use the lower SD625 CPU but in reality unless you like to play Benchmark bragging bingo you'd never know the difference. the slower SD625 also sips battery juice. I'm seeing 3 days between charges on my P2 :smirk:

Yes. Due to lack of band 20 instead of getting 4G Internet you would only get 3G Internet in some areas on some networks. 3G data should be fine for everything apart from watching lots of video content.

If you are willing to do a little bit of reading before you begin the process, it really isn't difficult, but if drivers, and the odd typing of a command are not something you can age to, it's not your bag.
But really it's an enjoyable learning process if you open your mind to it.
