If you are going to build and aren't fussed about the box, you can get some great pieces through eBay. I paid £65 for mine.

Those hoping to make any money out of any current LEGO Star Wars set faces bitter disappointment. The bubble has burst, big time!

Dont think many will make much money from Lego anymore with the amount of investors,
I bought Ecto with the idea of a mantle piece but ended up giving it kids after id built it

I think you're supposed to wait a few years, i.e keep it in a damp loft ect

That was until last year, LEGO sets no longer increase in value. Have you noticed the drop in values of once desirable sets?

I've noticed this. I think it is still possible to make the odd £20-30 here and there if you get a set cheap and flog it just after retirement but unless you do this en mass there is no real money to be made. Hugely overpriced sets such as 10221 are coming down in price but lower priced by comparison sets like 10240 are going up, eventually everyone who wants these will have them and the market will collapse. As for buying anything current as a long-term investment is a complete waste as when you come to sell it in 30yrs time, there will be a lot less original Star Wars lovers around and you will be competing against 1000 other sellers who all had the same idea, mainly due to silly press releases about Lego being a better buy than gold etc.
