I can see how it may sound contradictory to call it 'the best' while not comparing it directly to other games. The obvious reality being I do compare it to other games in the genre, whether I want to or not. All's I really meant was when I called it 'the best' was since I began playing videogames I've rarely encountered a game which feels to offer everything in such a complete package, this is one of a dozen which does. A masterpiece and essential.

I don't compare one game to another, particularly not having played every game released since day 1, but having played numerous hours with said game, I can testify to it being one of the best - if not the best - that I have every played. I've been playing videogames since the ZX Spectrum.

Not to be argumentative but I feel like there's a slight contradiction there. If you do not compare this to other games then how do you quantify it as being "the best?" I am genuinely curious. Best in terms of having fun, or otherwise? I must say I've been amazed how good the old Zelda games still look to this day. They aged rather well.
