Chances of finding these at a tenner very slim. When they went down to £19 hardly anyone could find them. There may be a handful scattered around the country. Good luck!

Tesco larger stores stock them, also Asda just started the other week. Around £3.40 per pack at Asda. I have this machine for 6months. Use it every day, it's fantastic

Got the Dolce Gusto but it's flaw is you have to stop it, wasted so many espresso pods as instead of stopping when your half asleep it will pour you a 1L espresso until it runs out of water!

My dolce gusto is automatic so stops at the right level, worth spending a bit more for an automatic if you've got an easily drifting mind

Don't buy the compatible pods, they muck up your machine and void your warranty.

All the questions about compatibles may be a clue why they're so cheap - with four different standards, and Lavazza the smallest, looks like they're on the way out.

The price tells you about the coffee from these machines. Anyone that says the coffee is good from these pod machines does not drink real coffee. pod machines have been discounted in stores in Spain for around a year and they don't sell because the Spanish along with the Italians know how coffee should taste. British will eat or drink anything that is foreign even though it doesn't taste like the real thing, like pizza and Indian food. But I do like a British Indian.

I don't think you have a clue.
They sell these machines cheap, then get their money back on the pods. It's called Gillette Marketing - they sell cheap razors then rob you blind with the blades. Now taken up by Home printers and others, too.
The alternative reason for this deal is the Betamx effect - several different 'standards' (pod sizes/shapes), and sooner or later the weakest lose. Nespresso, with widest range of copies, will undoubtedly win, partly because those machines are usually the cheapest ;-)
To suggest interest is fading is much like saying 'Kids are sick of the Internet' - take a look at your local supermarket, or electrical store. They're here to stay.
You and I can only guess as to why, but the convenience, as well as the taste, is probably a factor. But many prefer the taste to 'classic' home brewed. And yes, they're big in Southern Europe, too.

the milk frother on these is brilliant , it also makes very good hot chocolate. unfortunately it's not detachable from the coffee machine which although it makes very good coffee takes a long time and leaks everywhere. it takes about a litre of water and 2 minutes to get a third of a mug of coffee the rest of the water slowly leaking out if the machine. obviously mine was faulty but seen lots of negative comments about the build quality looking through review's. Took mine back to b&m after testing to make dodeca sure with the 20 or so assorted coffees that came free with it. decided even a working unit would be no quicker than the simple funnel filter I use that also makes very good coffee and the pods are more expensive and less eco friendly. Pity the milk frother alone doesn't come for a tenner not enough space on worktop for a redundant coffee machine.
