I got one on Saturday night as I had been waiting for a deal on these. Its perfect size for our garden and we where roasting Marshmallows on it with an hour. We used one of those compressed sawdust Heat Logs which make for quite a clean and fast setup.
I have also ordered a cheap cover from eBay, however it will live in the shed when not in use after cool down.

In which case then you'll be well aware that there are different grades of steel, and any mild steel, whether British, Chinese or whatever will rust.

I've got one for these and paid about £45 - it's a little rusty now one year one but overall I'm pretty pleased for the money. I picked up mine only because it was the only one available and needed one pronto so if you're serious about the garden chimney thing I still advise holding out for a genuine large cast iron one that will last decades with care.
But this is still good and my one has plenty of heat

I got given one of these as a present. It's gone a bit rusty after half a dozen outings, but I'm really pleased with it. It will last a couple of summers, and it knocks out a decent amount of heat. It's lovely having a few too many drinks and watching the flames dance about.
Not negative in any way - its fact. With family who have been involved in the British steel industry who also say the same about imported steel, I think I am allowed to voice an opinion.

Beginning to get **** off with shopping for a chiminea that are described as cast iron when it's thin cheap steel. They are two totally different metals. After falling for crap pottery chimineas that crack after first use, I want a solid 100% cast iron, most are not even they are described as one! I'm surprised with our tough trade description laws these people haven't been out up in caught for mis description.

Especially if it's that imported steel crap. Spot of rain and watch it dissolve in front of your eyes.

Got mine today, was tempted to return. Not cast iron as advertised.
Cast iron legs and the rest is thin pressed and rolled mild steel with a black stain.
Actually now I look at it the name states cast iron, description "sturdy steel" and tech specs cast iron.
Will see how it lasts but suppose it was only £30. If it lasts the year I'll be happy.

The clay ones need seasoning or 'curing' like a Wok.
