Not great for those holidaymakers sharing the pool , staying in a room near you or having you plonk themselves next to them at the beach. Put your headphones in and listen to your music yourself. Fortunately, I don't often come across your type on holiday.

Mine doesn't work. During charging the red light flashes fast but it won't charge. Makes a horrible noise and no music.

Mine arrived today - its ok but pretty disappointed in the sound - was expecting more based on comments on here - distinctly average. Nice travel case though so will probably keep for summer BBQs (where its wont ever go loud enough to bother the neighbours....)

Bought one of these from Tesco about 2 years for £20, been really good and well built up until about a fortnight ago and it will now no longer charge, it's not been used that much maybe 40 hours over the 2 years, it could just be the battery which is replaceable but not very happy with the amount use its had.

Naa mate, been using it most days every week for over a year now. It's fine. It's not designed to be submerged so it's possible people have encountered corrosion if it's fell into water or had a power shower blasting directly on it, but if kept just out of the stream (e.g. On a shower screen or wall using the built in suction cup) then it's definitely not gonna corrode - there's a decent rubber seal around the charge port to prevent splashes getting in. If I had any negatives about it, I'd say the battery life probably only lasts an hour or so, but for the price I don't think there's much better out there, from the few I've tried.

You might want to be careful with that second speaker - lots of 1-star reviews stating that it has good sound but stopped working quite quickly due to corrosion after being used in the shower...

I used to sell these in my last job. Constant refunds. if you want something like this, look into Divoom. They have a voombox on Amazon, it's circular and I paid about £15 for it. The sound quality is amazing, and you can tell me the weight and feel of it, it's a quality product. Even the bass is great.

Bought a Soundbot SB571 on Amazon for £15.99 just under a year ago and I've been very pleased with it. Looks like it's gone up a quid since then. Check out the reviews if you're after a decent, cheap portable speaker. Would definitely consider buying another if I needed one.

Checked a couple of youtube vids after this recommendation and went ahead and ordered. If it is as good as you say it is, thanks for the recommendation

The Mrs bought this speaker around 5 years ago for £30+ and still uses it most days while getting ready (which I can verify takes at least 120 minutes) so its lasted well so far. Its certainly louder and bassier than any phone, tablet or laptop I've ever used so I would recommend it over those. However, I bought this Bluetooth speaker that's safe to use in the shower and its far more powerful as its 5w, and charges via micro USB, like my phone whereas this one uses mini USB

Mine is black, I paid £30 for it from tesco about 4 years ago. I have to say that this little speaker is fantastic, good sound quality and it has a nice feel. People who expect any sort of bass from a product of this size and price are expecting too much. I have since brought a sound blaster roar which in my opinion has brilliant sound quality and the bass is exceptional for its size. But this quality comes at a bigger price. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the kitsound boombar. I would definitely recommend it.

2x2W output sound quality is a little better than phone speaker quality. Price for that quality is normal.

**mutley** if people don't like the colour, they might like to explain how the colour affects the performance. My fridge-freezer is black. The saving relative to the white one payed the delivery twice

i won't buy something if i don't like the colour, no matter how good value it is. unless it is something that can be hidden away.
i find that if i see something which has a colour that i do not like, i don't want to be near it and that would spoil the joy of owning the item. lol

got so excited when i saw this post but on googling reviews, there were mixed reactions. i am particularly put off by the low bass comments and i really like the bass sound. it would appear to be good value for £12 but not if you are looking for quality speakers or want heavy bass.
voted hot as it is a very good price if you just want loud sound and not too fussy about what sort of sound :innocent:

Just a word of warning -- Which reviewed this in Dec 2016 and described the sound quality as dreadful giving it only a 37% overall ( and don't buy) rating-- but looking at the comments above seem to contradict this-- I guess for the price it may be worth the risk?

I would agree with the Which review. In a small room it's actually quite good but if you take it anywhere outside, it's almost inaudible. And even in a room, it's not the same as the many small speakers you get these days which are much more balanced but with impressive bass response. But for £12, it's a good deal as it usually hovers around the £15-20 mark (currently £15.99 for the same colour from Amazon).

Might struggle a bit on really windy days at the beech but great for good days and being around the pool/balcony.
Mines survived 4 fairly heavy going holidays so far and use in between and still going strong. Battery life really good too plus you can just connect via a 3.5mm lead too.
Well worth the £12.
