Saw this in the Westerhope (Newcastle) Asda tonight, and also the White Gloss at the same price, 4 Quid down from 8.

I've used this paint and result is fantastic. Use primer/undercoat on all woodwork and then one coat of this. Johnstone's is a premium brand compared to overpriced and overrated

I bought 2 of these and then seen a 2.5ltr in Homebase for £12, done the whole house but was not 1 coat, needed 2 over gloss! Looks great on.

I'm only a DIY'er but I wouldn't buy this brand again. I bought the White loss for skirting and door frames. Despite proper prep' I had to give two coats and still wasn't happy.

We've used this extensively in a renovation project and be warned, its not one coat even remotely. We've had to use at least 3 on average, though like all paints, proper surface prep and sanding between coats helps. I'm not saying its bad paint exactly, just that you need to allow for extra coats when working out how much you'll need.

Water based and scratches off easily, no good on door frames

I was really considering to buy this. Thank you

I've had very mixed results with this brand of paint. If you're just after something cheap and cheerful for a shed or something, this will do. But for a decent finish I would stick with the premium brands.

I've got to disagree. I've painted the woodwork in four rooms now with this paint and the finish has been excellent.
I wouldn't call it "one coat" though.

Johnstones have been in business over 100 years....I think they probably are a premium brand

Johnstone's is by no means cheap or cheerful!
I swear by their varnish - only brand I use & recently used their primer to prepare a door for painting. Great results.
But I never believe the 'one coat ' claims of any paint

We have used this. Good paint and really does dry quickly. Good for when you have kids around and don't want paint on their clothes etc.
Opening post
Roughly 1-2 hours dry time and very low fumes
