I've been waiting for John Lewis to finally start their store clearance and it's started today.
Today I picked up the Samsung UE55KU6500 bundled with the Samsung HW-J6500R with 20% discount for being end of line/display models. £519.00
Total value to buy separate is well over 800
Plenty of other packaged deals, these are on the system so you just need to ask for clearance discount on top. Don't forget even if it's display you still get 5 years warranty...these will be store specific based on stock!
Mm shame it's in-store only as no mention at all on website so assume it's hit and miss with stores and availability.
Could be handy if you know what you want and they've got it in store.

Nice buy, well done. I will have to speak with my local store as I like the look of this TV. Was yours ex-display or brand new?

Yes definitely
They had loads on clearance, saw a PlayStation VR on clearance at £299 before any discount in Leeds store (will take photo tomorrow)
Thinks its pretty much all electrical gadgets...

ugh, I walked through yesterday and saw some TVs but resisted the spends. If I'd seen the psvr it would have been a different story!

Commence the wild goose chase with some people picking up UE55KS8000's for rock bottom prices and others not finding a damn thing.
Might take a trip down tomorrow at lunch and hope I am not part of the latter.

Mine was ex display, when they checked stock she said nearly every shop is running this deal as they only have one left. She said the only ones that are excluded from the 20% was 2 Samsung models (think OLED)
They are doing a display change over the next two week so plenty of opportunities to get the discount

The John Lewis summer clearance doesn't start until the middle of June, this is just a specific store selling an end of line display model. Good deal but will not be available in other stores or online.

I have this tv and paid £800 for it earlier this year. Great tv and would recommend it. At this price WITH a sound bar it's a great price!

Ask, they offered it me straight away
And yes I paid cash....my ball and chain had my card and it was an impulse buy
Safe to say when I turned up with all this lot when I was supposed to be just getting those stupid hand spinny things for my kids she wasn't "pleased"

All display models for sale and customer returns etc have the 20% discount automatically applied to them.
John Lewis Stratford didn't have hardly anything.

For those asking about the PSVR, it's still here in Leeds...
I can't understand anyone buying ex-display. Bashed around. Been used 12 hours a day 7 days a week for a year or so. Just to save 20%. There are so many great deals on new TV's, many with 5 or 6 years guarantee. FYI John Lewis offload most of their customer returns and ex-display products at THL Auctioneers based in Oldham - accessible on-line via http://www.i-bidder.com

Seriously? So I'm assuming you have never bought anything from ebay or a second hand car?
We are talking about tvs, cameras, electricals which sit on a stand....hardly bashes around. Why wouldn't I want to save 20% (well considerably more if your lucky) for an luxury item that comes with a 5 year guarantee from a reputable company?
Would much rather save money and get the same product than pay more....for the stuff I got I would have essentially paid an extra 300 for a box....which I got anyway because they put the tv in one when I bought it.
Finally these aren't just ex display there are end of line stock as well.
No pleasing some people

Well you could go for an ex display DAB radio, I've never known one to be tuned in or getting any kind of DAB signal at my local JL so it'll be 'unused'.

Absolutely nothing in Oxford Street London. There's a fair bit in Selfridges instead on you're looking for tellies

Used cars and eBay purchases?! Hardly the same as a TV that's been running whenever that store is open and prodded by anyone who pleases.
Plus you would not make those purchases if only saving 20%.
End of line sealed units are a different scenario all together.
Iammrt
19 May 172#31
Prodded? I highly doubt that someone is going to prod a tv in John Lewis with anything other than the tip of their finger unless they are slightly "too into" their 4k tvs.
Minimum 20%, most up to date tech will be hard to get hold of even second hand for anywhere near to 20% discount.
Let's agree that I think it's a good deal and you think people stroke tvs in John Lewis with various parts of their anatomy

Managed to nab a Samsung 55KS7500 from JL Canary Wharf for £890.

To me its not really worth, for it this case at least. for a saving of £120, you are getting a used item with reduced warranty possibility of nicks and scratch and shorter life span. being turn on 9-6, 7 days a week for possible 2 year(2015 model?) can really take a toll on the internal components. If this is a more expensive TV or bigger discount then another story

Ex demo not really a bargain. Lots of ex demo deals at Currys also.

Well for me saving a little bit of money and seeing that the TV is mint is worth it. Also, I had the chance to check if the screen had any issues (like clouding etc) and this TV didn't - which can save a lot more hassle of sending TV's back.
Not everyone can or will buy new from many retailers due to various reasons, plus thousands of people buy second hand, returns or refurbished from eBay.
I also managed to get Accidental cover added for £49 instead of £99
