SumUp card reader is much lower quality than Izettle and the annoying paring system...so slow...Izettle is easier to use and quicker overall smooth experience. All my customers happy :smile:

izettle card reader doesn't last very long, I switched to SumUp due to previous iZettle lite reader stopped working

Yes if the items are not fit for purpose and the buyer raises a claim via the bank

If you sold some items at a trade Fair for £100 on this what protection do you have as a seller?
Can you have the money taken back and refunded leaving you with nothing?

Really good for small or on the go businesses, used it for at a retail fair, came in handy

As I said, this is a market with so many providers that competition really does push prices down. WP were happy to waive terminal fees in my experience too, the client for 5 of them for a 12m deal. At a flat 0.85%, credit and debit, inc AMEX.

Using alternative maths, the docking station costs £29, as the reader is currently available on the same website for £25.

My dad pays 0.41% through worldpay. Although that's a negotiated deal for all Spar shops in the area.

It's actually cheaper for him to take cards rather than cash. The bank charges 0.6% to pay in on his business account!

Sorry only noticed the reply. No monthly, no minimum, just a 12 month period. They probably offer that deal because they see enough volume and a trustworthy business that's been running for 80 years, but they're not one-offs.

That's why I keep saying this. Negotiate!! I can't believe the apathy people here (of all places) have to throwing 1% of all their revenue away. That's what you're doing if you settle for izettle. It's not convenient, it's expensive.

Exactly the same for me, iZettle will be rarely used but is useful for me to have. For me it's the perfect contract free option.

Shop around people. Worldpay recently offered a client of mine a flat rate of 20p+0.85%. Lowest I'd ever seen. Saved them thousands of pounds a year over their last provider.

They want your business, they will negotiate. Don't be sucked in by silly widgets and pay through the nose to settle transactions.

Take that with a pinch of salt. Government regs say they have to go to tender and use the cheapest provider.

can you still get the smaller black type izettel

12 month! Admittedly their take is more than a few pence (around £750k) but that isn't perversely high for anyone selling stuff.

I'm on Worldpay, online only as don't deal with customers face to face and am on 2.014% on credit cards and 0.37% on debit

Easy to get your 'fee' waived. I did, also got a £50 Amazon voucher too. My rates are now 0.80% for debit and 1.20% for credit cards. Started off with izeytle but a lot more expensive for us

One off, upfront terminal admin fee (£150 for standard terminal) applies from Worldplay.... special one off deals a bit like customer retention on mobile phones hard to get a repeat deal for all. This is a deal for all not special mates rates from suppliers.

I have two izette readers but have now gone over to Square

Just as quick and does 'customer not present' as well.

Plus lower rates and (I presume I can't post) does £1000 transactions fee free :-)

I recently purchased the contactless reader from iZettle and it's excellent. Connection with my phone takes 2-3 seconds from powering on the reader.

I have the plug in model of izettle but is extremely slow even just to connect. (once the screen goes off it takes even longer to reconnect and that is regaress of Wi-Fi or 4g connection) maybe the contactless is much quicker.

With only 1.95% regardless of how much you take over izettle 2.75% I'd rather go with SumUp
