Ive just found this freestanding hotpoint cooker for £242 at Tesco Direct with free recycling! Cheapest I can see everywhere else is AO having it at £386. I also used the 10% discount off free standing hotpoint which gave me an extra £26 off! Now I've just got to convince my husband for a brand new kitchen to go with it!

Spent most of the day searching the net for a new cooker after hob cracked on previous one last night. Purchased. Perfect timing. Heat added.

I have this cooker. Prepare yourself for the annoying knobs which are in a bizarre order and labelled underneath the knobs which is sooo annoying. But apart from that it's a great cooker.

This is a fantastic price for this quality of cooker. Sure it's not induction top, but for a double oven, ceramic top and programmable timer this is exceptionally cheap.

I can't believe how quickly they rang to arrange delivery! My old gas cooker is still installed and my kitchen isn't finished, so arranged delivery for bank holiday weekend. My cooker I have now lasted 23 and a half years. Sad to see it go, but with the door now almost hanging off, what a better time to have found a bargain :innocent:

if he's not qualified you could run in to issues if it blows up, as they'll possibly ask for an installation certificate before fixing / replacing it if under warranty
(I am aware that it's a 30 second job to install it)
we've just had a new cooker fitted by an electrician because were told the 5yr warranty might be void without an installation certificate, most likely wont be an issue but if they want to be awkward they can be
it was quite painful paying someone 30 quid for a 30 second job that I could easily do blindfolded but probably worth it for the proof of installation

Did the electrician supply the cable included in that, as this cooker doesn't appear to have one with it (sorry if that's obvious, I've never had electric before). Thanks.

cable was £5 extra, so £25 if there's one already but I had quotes from £25 to £100, our new one was £700+ but it's still didn't come with a cable
£5 for cable seems to be the going rate as I contacted several for prices, he supplied it as I couldn't be bothered finding my roll in the garage
like I said it hopefully wont be an issue not having a certificate / receipt from a qualified electrician if you're doing a basic warranty claim but it's a risk
another reason to get it fitted with proof is that if there was a fire in your house started by your cooker, your house insurance company would want to know who fitted it and would possibly require proof
saying "my uncle gav" wouldn't look good if you had a large insurance claim
I have a few qualified electrician mates but they were all busy so found one on yell.com , just go there and search for some in your area, text 5-10 of them and ask for a price with a proper receipt / certificate of installation
