Does anyone know whether it's 'proper' 4K? Thanks

Resolution is definitely 4k. I bought mine in December. Good TV, although smart TV part is rather basic.

According to AVForums video on YouTube, it's actually 8bit+FRC. They said it in a reply in the comments - https://youtu.be/W0ymP-v_7s0

I'd take it right away but its AO.com so i'll pass. First,**** terms and cons. Second, short warranty for tv worth this much is a bit risky. But this price has got to be one of the best its ever been. Probably the new model's being released if u check out richer sounds website u'll see quite a few Hindese TVs that say "coming soon"

Regardless what bit panel. This TV is probably the best in the price range and very well reviewed

Are you sure? Lots of contradictions about that on this thread.
Maybe it's an 8bit panel that accepts 10bit signal?
Like how a 720 panel accepts 1080 signals?
Superb TV, got it for 1100 last year and can't fault it, aside from a slight border flicker in some very dark movie scenes, which may have been corrected by firmware now. For gaming it's brilliant, it had bad input lag before first firmware update but it's perfectly fine now (in gaming mode, of course). Yes, proper 4k, yes HDR - not sure if it's 10 bit but it looks insane in Shadow Warrior 2, Resi 7, Hitman.

Phoned. They wont because of AO.COM's 2 yr warrant which isnt similar to their warranty to price match

"LAST FEW IN SELECTED STORES" "Some may be ex-display, refurbished or missing accessories"... so are you recommending hunting whole country for some ex-display model ?... jeez.
