Not tried the rice wine yet because my research suggests that it works best when it's properly warm. Never did find a reasonably priced source for the yeast balls but I dropped the guys at Angel an e-mail about their "Rice Leaven" and they confirmed that it is a mold/yeast combination that will convert starch to sugar and sugar to alcohol.
BTW, my chapattis are "islands of the world". Indian girlfriend for 12 years and I still couldn't get them round.

Cheers, man. Do you know where? I've found pale malt recently for £20 for 25kg but can't remember where.
I've seen the rice brews done with those balls you crack up and it seems like a bit of a lengthy process.

Nor mine - they're getting better but they're still not perfect. And it's not like you can even describe or even know how you're getting better at it.

Heat - amazing deal. If only they'd do the same deal with malt for homebrewers.

They currently have the cheapest sugar around at 88p for 2kg.
I also recently got two 5kg bags of rice from then at £2 a bag that will be used for a rice wine experiment with the Angel yeast and mold spores that I got off AliExpress.
I don't do AG but I read a recent forum post were people were sourcing crystal malt at £16 - £18 for a 25kg bag.
Opening post
Buy 2 for £5
Max 20 per person if ordering online, as much as you can grab if store
