Spec for spec, this looks like the cheapest/best value GTX 1050 I can find. HP Omen is the same price but only 2GB Vram and without the bundle ASUS is also offering
Looks like the i7 Kabylake is only £899 as well - Both are good prices that I can see
You can tell it's a gaming laptop because its hideous.

This multimedia series not gaming. All gaming models starts from G, like g502, g553, g552 and etc. However in terms price/hardware very good price. Hot from me

It's been posted on their official ROG Twitter, so it seems as if it's a new gaming model?
This deffo has a TN screen. They don't say too many bad things about it but in the detailed comparison numbers, it looks on a par with the Dell Inspirion 7000 TN screen that so many reviews have slagged off. The screen brightness, at 215 cd/m2 looks very poor ( for comparison, my two year old ASUS N551JK, which cost a measly £563, has an IPS screen with a brightness of 315 and is a joy to look at!)

Thanks for the reply, I have read that review as well and the adobe rgb range is poor, what confuses me even more is that on the asus website the fx comes with two screens: 72% NTSC with 178˚ and the other one with 45% NTSC. I believe the first one is ips

What's the best deal in the moment for asus gl553vd?
Hi @rucer07. Did you receive the laptop yet. I'm intrigued if it has an IPS display. If so, I'm buying one today.

It is definitely TN, black colours disappearing when you move screen. Disappointing :disappointed:
Update: This laptop is fully plastic, unlike GL753 which is metal

Build quality is excellent! I dont like touchpad but I am not using it at. Top lid is from aluminium a bit flimsy otherwise is very good quality machine. I play Starcraft 2, no overheating even on high settings. Downloading forza 3 now, which comes free with this laptop
