Geotel A1 is a waterproof, dustproof smartphone. The Geotel A1 3400 mAh battery gives the smartphone a good battery backup. This is a low maintenance battery. No periodic discharge is needed and charging can be done at random.

How does one test the GPS? Not had any problem with the location services but don't use them a lot. Haven't tried navigation in maps, so not sure about the heating but no problem when using as a WiFi hotspot which often cause devices to warm up.

google maps or navigation app, such as mapfactor navigator, recommended free fromapp store.

Received mine yesterday. Haven't owned an Android handset for years but I am amazed for 60 quid. Bumper case and screen protector aren't great and it may be tricky to get better ones, but everything else is good. Reason I am posting is that initially I couldn't get a data connection despite the APN being already configured. Turns out it was an option under 'data usage' to enable cell data. Might be a standard Android thing but seems an odd place to hide a switch to turn it off. Once enabled I was up and running.

Very good spec. However I wanted one the same size as a Sony z3 compact.
Is there any reliable Chinese model available? thanks

If you are looking for a phone around the same price, but smaller you could consider the UMIdigi G phone, it has a 5inch screen, so will be considerably smaller. I have not tried this particular phone, but had another UMI phone and was very good considering the price, with a nice display and finger print reader.
The specs will not set the world on fire, but great for your usual day to day tasks and looks very much like an Iphone 7! UmiDigi g - AliExpress

been using an Oukitel Pro15 for a while now, cost about £85 last year, lovely phone v similar specs 3gb ram, 5.5" screen etc. but with fingerprint sensor too. Chinese unknown brands used to suffer from poor GPS but not anymore, only downside is maybe the camera in low light. Deliveries tend to take 2-3 weeks for me on free option, never been charged import tax

In my experience most of these budget 'unbranded' Chinese phones are great. They are just made by Oem's who supply the major brands anyway. The software can sometimes be lacking but no problems usually with the hardware.

I think there are some great phones out of China - Huwaei, Oneplus are really good mid to high level phones, and Xiaomi has started making seriously good stuff now - would not be too quick to diss chinese phones.

On the plus side, the software is usually stock, or close to stock, Android, which makes a refreshing change to the bloat seen in your megabucks LG or Samsung. Just as clean as Google intended, little added and little taken away.

Yousers! the silver one is now £87.32, whilst the arguably better looking deep blue is still £63.64. Gearbest also gives a 'British Direct' shipping option for free at checkout. I've used this before whilst buying e-ciggie type items and they've always arrived within a week, without any nasty customs surprises.

Both yours and the previous Posters comments are valid really?.
As some with Chinese BLU Phones say they suck? (and some don't ... )
Whereas other's would rather swear by their Motorola Phones instead? (or end up steering clear of them because of their lack of Customer Services/Software Support, etc etc etc, and would rather swear by a Samsung instead, or whatever?).
And they're alllllll Chinese/South Korean Phones regardless ...
So, kinda depends as to what each persons individual game is really?.

Agreed!.
As via DHL is likely to attract Customs & Excise costs!.
Summing up so far: Close to stock Android. All plastic, bit of a fingerprint magnet. A removable battery too, which makes a change for a phone from this price point. Takes a while to charge. Low light pictures seem poor, apparently it has some scratch resistant glass on the screen. No gyroscope, it seems. Good GPS. Great HD screen, good brightness for its price - called "TrueView" which has a blue light filter, kinder for your eyes? SD card slot and Dual-SIM slots (Mini- and Micro-SIM). Doesn't have an OTG feature.

Excellent deal OP - I don't need to swap my Android phone but just did anyway! I've used Gearbest before & the item shipped via DHL. I've had stuff get through without customs duty but I've also had to pay it as well. I believe at this price point, it should only be VAT that gets added if anything, which still makes it a great value phone for about £77 (£65.71 with shipping insurance). Don't forget TCB though. Mine's tracked at £4.18

Have to agree. Probably 75% or more of electronics we use in our day to day lives are made either in China or South Korea (including mobile phones and the holy grail, the iPhone) yet we diss anything 'Made in China'.!!
