Neither yet, I'm waiting for the B&Q one to go up in price to £35 before I bite the bullet, that way it will clearly be the better one since it'll be the more expensive!
Either that, or I'll break into Aldi and into B&Q tonight, assemble one unit of each, then dig a tunnel between the two stores so I can move quicker from one to the other (I'll have to also assemble and install a monorail shuttle in the tunnel, in order to make it more convenient for me to move at speed between them) then I'll be able to get a clearer idea about which is the better cheapo shelving unit.

First off, you DO sound rude, and it's because you are BEING rude; secondly, you base your unnecessary, unwanted, irrelevant opinion on my intellect merely on the fact that I made some small, educated partial guesses (and admitted as much) while asking for some more, concrete information, plus the fact I missed an extra 6cm of depth, as well as an extra 12 months of warranty - I'm sure that must make me a real idiot, and is in no way a reflection on you and your twisted world view (!)

Your view has so far been subjective and pretty vague. I appreciate the unearthing of an extra 0.276 square metres of total shelf space and the extra 12 months of warranty, but neither says enough about any objective quality differences to justify a 30% price premium.
You go on to advise seeing them in person, and while this will already be an inconvenience too far for most people, are you certain in your apparent suggestion that (were these units to even be in stock at a given branch) they would have an example FULLY ASSEMBLED for our edification?
That seems unlikely, but I'm prepared to be proved wrong, however, in the eventuality that this is nonsense, I wonder if you realise that inspecting a bunch of loose bits of steel rail in a box would tell even the most expert of shelving unit experts very little about the quality / solidity of the assembled unit as compared to another unit of similar gauge, not to mention that your comparison scenario involves seeing one unit in one store, then trundling across town to a different store to see the other unit, many minutes/ hours later, by which time one's perception and thus objectivity would be compromised!
So there is no practically achievable way to compare the 2 different units (assembled, no less!) side-by-side before buying, meaning your ever-so-helpful advice becomes pie-in-the-sky pointlessness. Thanks again!

Twice I have said the Aldi one is better in my opinion. If you REALLY want one, and I'm taking an educated guess that you won't buy one, you would go and look at them yourself.

If you were that clever and I don't mean to sound rude but it doesn't appear that you are, you would have noticed that the Aldi one also has a greater depth AND a longer guarantee. You might not see it in the photos but it IS in the description.

So in summary, you should go and buy the B&Q one........if anybody else is after one I'd take a trip to Aldi, you might just drop lucky.

Well, let's see: I gave my educated opinion from the information I had available to me - the PHOTOS and the PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS - and I also asked an owner - i.e. YOU - if he could expand on his comparison with some concrete facts, and his response was to give NO further concrete facts or details such as gauge differences (my educated guess was there are none, and this is now tantamount to a confirmation) finish differences (are both galvanised?), materials differences (chipboard shelves as they appear in the photos or MDF?) or ease of assembly, and instead opted to tell me to "take my head from out of my rear end". So what do you think, am I happy?

Now if you take your head from out of your rear end perhaps you can explain how you come to your assumption just looking at a picture because you really haven't got a clue. I have both, I know which one I prefer even if it means spending a bit more money. Happy ?

Picked up 2 of these yesterday for the garage. Basically a load of metal plate that hammers into each other with mdf shelves that sit on the metal lips. Fairly happy for £20 a pop, just wary that if there's any moisture in the garage (have our drier in there) the mdf might go to pot after a while.

I've got four of the brand that Homebase sells. Once assembled, they're sturdy. Can't fault them.

175kg per shelf - total 875kg so not far off the screwfix one that was £20 a few months back

These are not very good quality. Try Makro they have them on offer from Time to time.
