I put a price alert on Camel Camel Camel for the G3 Ferrari pizza oven - This is one of the cheapest prices it's ever been. Reviews are fantastic and it seems to make restaurant quality pizza at 50p a pop. Currently selling at £99.99 on amazon.co.uk.

Hi, has anyone who ordered this received theirs yet? Mind was due between 4-8 June but hasn't arrived yet. Is there a way of changing the language on the Amazon.it site to English language so I can navigate it better? Thanks

I make my own pizzas and normally use a stone to cook them in the oven, my only concern with buying this would be my pizzas are normally bigger than 12" which is what the diameter of the plates are. hmmmmmm does size matter?

Size definitely does matter! I'll be making two pizzas instead of my usual 15 inch!

If you can't make good quality pizzas with this oven, you have no business going anywhere near a kitchen.

It takes a bit of skill and practice to use well though, is not an idiot proof device designed to make life easier.

Thanks OP. Would the warranty still be valid in the UK? Any benefits in ordering a UK one over this?

I've had one of these for about 6 months. Use it 2-3 times per week. It's topslice.
I ended up with a totally burnt pizza the first time I used this (much hotter than a regular oven, obv) but I find that if you stick it on 2.5, let it warm up for 5 mins (just put the timer on - this gives the perfect amount of time to prepare your pizza anyway), then cook the pizza for 4-5 mins at the same temp, it ends up pretty much perfect.
I also use solely 00 flour when using this - currently using "Molino Grassi Italian Flour" (it's about £1/bag) on Amazon, but you do have to buy 10 bags at a time.
I've also found that the following recipe makes the perfect sized pizza dough for this machine:
- 125-130g flour
- 80g water (tepid)
- 1 teaspoon of yeast (or a bit less - depends how good your yeast is)
- 2/3 tablespoon of sugar
- 2/3 teaspoon salt
- Drizzle of oil
I mix the water, yeast and sugar in a bowl and leave for 5 mins, before adding to the dry ingredients, mixing and kneading. Leave it to proove/rise for about 30 mins after that and you're good to go.
Add your sauce + topping and you're off.
I ate one about an hour ago. It was delicious. I'll probably do the same again tomorrow. And the next day.

Amazing product for the price. Had mine since it was this price a few Years ago. Use it nearly every week. Great pizzas and garlic bread on this. See they now do one with dual stones probably better than the element.

What a coincidence that this has come up!! I've just been contemplating buying a pizza oven but it would just be another back of the cupboard gadget. Years ago, I used to use a large terracotta floor tile as a pizza stone, it was brilliant but got lost in a house move, think I'll just invest in two floor tiles. I've just read that home bargains have pizza stones for £4.99. Now a wood fired bread oven would be my dream
Switch it on at 2.5 level. Make up your 1st pizza. When it's hot but the light not yet off the first one can go in. Open the lid and fan it down a bit just before placing the pizza on the stone. I turn the pizza about 2 mins in to ensure it's evenly cooked. When that's done leave the lid open and fan, make up the next one and repeat. Should the light go off just turn the heat up a bit. I've never had a failure - they are all great!

I have been using them for years, and they do all seem to break after a few years use. The last one I bought was the cheapest I could find on ebay, it arrived well packaged and is still going strong.

I got some good quality pizza pans to use with mine,6 of them it makes life really easy.
Just a case of getting the pizza's all prepared then they just go in one after the other it takes about 5 min's each to cook, turning each one about every 2 mins for more even cooking.

Ryanposs to Mac007
30 May 17#11
On that note, would this plug be okay to use with it? The G3 Ferrari page says it's 230v.
I bought one of these last time they were cheap direct from Amazon.it.
Positives: it arrived quickly and has potential to make a really good pizza if you get it dead right
Negatives: the temperature was very difficult to get just right, which made it stressful to use. Could only make one pizza at a time, and that could only be medium sized. The temperature control button broke off.
Conclusion, gone back to using two pizza stones in the oven at full heat. The results are always very good, its less stress and you can do two at same time. I'd actually forgotten I have one of these in the back of the cupboard...

It really doesn't need to be dead right. Just make sure the element is on the entire time the pizza is cooking. This means leaving it open to cool whilst you get the next one ready and fanning it a bit if the light isn't on or simply bumping up the temp control. I start at about 2.5 and make 4 or 5 pizzas over 15-20 mins. Never an issue.

Great device. Pretty much my only kitchen "gadget" that gets used regularly. Lovely pizzas, easy to use.
Cut the plug off and put a fused UK 3-pin on it or get a proper adaptor for a quid or two.
