So I was going to buy a cordless and noticed 2 offers that VAX have on right now. The vax blade 24V cordless vacuum cleaner was £279.99 and is now £159.96. You also get a blade toolkit worth £51.94 for FREE! And if that isn't enough then the Vax power shot 240 iron worth £44.99 is FREE!!!
If you read the thread it says in the T&C that you can't get the iron for free with the 24V cordless however when you add it to the basket it does work:)

Did you chose monthly payments? When I chose this option it was making me pay for the iron, however as soon as I changed it back to paying it all in one go it was free again.

All arrived today brilliant deal, the Hoover is fab I only have carpet in one room but picks up well, I'm a crafter so I dropped a pile of glitter purposely and it got it all up better than the old dyson did

I also got this with the voucher code the other week (with tools, without iron). The cleaner itself seems to do a good job and runs for a reasonable time (quoted run time is 35 mins), although with both boost and brushbar on it runs down a lot quicker as you'd expect. Boost "on" is the default setting but you probably do want to keep that on most of the time (or maybe my carpets are just extra grubby).
The extra tools are OK for free but I'd be very annoyed if I'd forked out in excess of £50 for them. There's one with rubber teeth on for stairs/pet fur although I find the standard head with brush bar does a better job on both stairs and fur. There's also a weird slightly-bendable hinged one with a soft brush on the end which I think is meant for doing on top of wardrobes etc but in practice I found it wasn't much use as it kept clicking back out of shape when applying the lightest pressure. Crevice tool (in the standard kit) is very short and stubby.

Don't buy one of these cordless Hoover's and expect it to maintain your man made carpets properly, it will be flat as a pancake and full of dust within a few months, most of the crap polypropylene everyone is buying these days clings to hair and bits like Velcro... these things are just not powerful enough!! Buy only for laminate and loop pile carpet. (I know I'm really good fun at parties)

also bear in mind 2 weeks ago I bought this with the tool kit for £139.99 so iron against this price is £20 . Still a good deal just not as amazing as the rrp would suggest

To be fair I think most of us take the RRP these days with a pinch of salt. And for those of us who have got it for £149.99, it only works out at £10. Can't grumble for a tenner

We've had ours a month and couldn't disagree more. Really good machine imo, picks up well and lasts long enough to do a reasonable whole house vac. Bought it with the £50 tools bundle for £139.90 with a voucher.

Thanks OP, ordered. Managed to save an extra £10 as well. I had gone all the way through the checkout - added email address etc - but didn't actually place order as I got sidetracked with the kids. I soon I received email from Vax about leaving something in my basket with a banner offering £10 off. Happy days
