To save people calling who didn't receive all items. Ive just got off the phone to euro car parts. They have a back order so will send out once they get them in, should be with you Wednesday or Thursday.

None of current California Scents lasts longer than 5 days, unfortunately. They used to be good in 2009-2010, always was buying only them. No longer! As many as I have tried form 2011, all are crap. Even strongest smelling Coronado Cherry( more like Bakewell tart) lasts only few days, a week at best, when older ones lasted months. I wrote to California Scents, and they said they changed formula in 2011 August......so they offered me refund.....

after everyone raving about the cherry i bought 12 from ebay and they only lasted about 2 weeks max and was disappointing now im thinking could they have been fakes??? the packaging the tin and the cubes inside seemed legit very clean cut and sharp printing

thanks got the cherry and bubblegum as per recommendations in thread also got 5 of the 5 litre deionised water for our steam generator iron work out at £1.41 each with code bargain especially with free delivery too. They seem to have their 'crazy sales' permanently though but still hot hot hot!

These are great BUT, the best ones are the gel type , which are much more expensive but last longer.

Best smells?
Tempted to get cherry, vanilla, strawberry and bubblegum...

Bubble Gum and Coronado Cherry. But as said, will smell for couple of days only...
Don't bother with Vanilla and Strawberry as will smell only when sniffing from the tin.

I ordered cherry one from Amazon 6 months ago and it's still going strong. It's unusual for it to last this long. Hopefully these ones would also last the same. It was my first time using it too

Maybe you got the old one...but I can bet on a million these will smell for a week and nothing then.

They smell for ages, more so in the summer as the heat pulls the smell out it more. Also car owners get used to the smell so start to smell it less. When other people get into the car they will get a good whiff.

After the first month I just hold the tub to the heat vent for a minute and the car gets flooded with cherry (more so in winter). After the second month I put the tub in my bedroom on top of the heater and my room smells great for months. Also if the blocks dry out then rub a LITTLE bit of water on them to rejuvenate.

One time I even put the tub in my wardrobe and all my clothes smelt of cherry forever :laughing:

I really doubt I got one made from 2011 when I ordered in 2016

eBay have 2x cherry for £3.99. when mine stopped giving out fragrance I recharged it with cherry essential oil, a few drops last about week

Watch out for fakes at that price point!

Okay. Its your opinion and choice. As for me: just buy Magic Tree for a quid, which will last for months and always same great quality!

There is no fakes , they are not worth to be made. If you are talking about Cool Scents, they are not fakes, just a copy of CS with different name.

I am not being sarcastic (I must be coming down with something) but what makes these so special (compared to a 50p cardboard tree / pacman or a £2 febreeze car thing)?

Coz they were lasting for ages-thats the main difference. Not any more. I think California Scents just lured customer making them longer lasting car freshener and then later just put less scent....thinking fans will buy it anyways.

Cherry is very intense, it is literally like it has a vomit twang to it, i had to bin 5, over concentrated smell or something, it was really bad.

I usually open it about 10% and leave it like that for the first few days to let it settle and yes it can be intense at the beginning.

Might sound silly but aren't these a bit bulky to store in the car,unlike a magic tree.

So, I ended up with a laguna breeze, a cherry one, a set of decent wiper blades and tailored car mats....I didn't need any of these when I got up this morning....anyone recommend a good dashboard cleaner, may as well go the whole hog

If you like cheaper scents that smell like Toilet cleaner then I would not advise anybody to buy California Scents because you will never be happy! :confused: If however you enjoy the finer things in life the Hey! live a little, I love the smells of these and couldn't care if they only lasted a week, However I too have been using them for years and find that even when I think the smell has gone others still comment on the sweet smells in the car.

Agree totally, can buy from anywhere and they are pants. Like someone said the £1 magic tree's last longer. Do like the smells, but not for me anymore. Not voted either way.

Don't open it up totally, open the can slightly the put the plastic vent back on in the closed position, I'm not surprised some people here lose the smell after a month with it totally open .

No,there is NO FAKES mate. I have contacted California Scents when bought few from Halfords(and Halfords is authorised seller by CS) and the won't last for a week-3 days and all smell is gone...but smells nice when sniffing direct from the tin. So California Scents requested pictures of tin from all sides, inside too. They have confirmed by batch number and all pics, I had original product, made by them. They, however said that formula has been changed, as many were complaining of smell being too strong. Well, thats says all-now if you haven't got them at 2008-2010, you won't know how they used to be and be happy with good scent for couple of days and then only very faint smell. But they also said, that many complaining now smell being too weak :smiley: They offered me some free product( I got 5 tins of different smell cans), but they were not better I had here, so I have said to them. Then, California Scents just apologised and refunded me $50 to PayPal. End of story.

if you have a condensing type tumble dryer the water thats gets collected is deionised water which could be used for many purposes like steam iron

I ordered 2 cherry the day this offer was posted and haven't heard a thing from them until today 9 days after the order date. I have just received an email of DHL saying they have just dispatched the item and it should be delivered soon
On a side note I ordered a Xiaomi mobile phone from China 2 days earlier and received it today.
