I don't even think Apple would sell anything for £5.98...

I apologise as I've just checked my desktop keyboard specifications and it's using wireless 2.4ghz radio frequency and was confusing it with the one I use as a TV remote.

Why Bluetooth though? The main advantage of Bluetooth is that unlike infrared, the radiation can penetrate objects. Infrared seems to work just fine in a desktop environment.
Interesting article comparing various technologies and why you should use either.
IrDA and similar IR technologies have been dead in computing space for over a decade.
The line of sight requirement is total pain to deal with and with ubiquity of super cheap 2.4Ghz spectrum chips (BT and other wireless protocols), there is absolutely no valid reason to use IR any more for computer peripherals.

IR (infrared) requires uninterupted line of sight visibility between transmitter and receiver. How does that work for instances where say the IR keyboard is on a desk and the IR receiver is in base unit below the desk?

The one Xenta thing I've owned (a mouse) broke in around a minute.
Not rechargeable! I've seen rechargeable on Amazon for about the same price.

the wifi version would be better imo and its cheaper....BT is always a pain to pair up all the time.
IR ones you would need to be in the line of sight from the reciever too.
Yes alright. My experience of BT 3.0 devices is they can be a pain in the **** to pair. IR is just so much simpler, plug it in and it works. And yes I have bought IR keyboards for a similar price.

it's been many years since I bought anything from ebuyer since their customer service took a nosedive but at this price it would be rude not to.

£7.96 including click & collect shipping cost (cheapest available) but still decent.

Good price. I have a Bluetooth one which looks identical to this, except it charges via USB and doesn't use AAA batteries.
