Think the title needs amending, only the V6 is 159.99 with discount, the Animal is 184 with discount. The Animal is also 199.99 brand new on dyson.co.uk.

i've had a v6 for a couple of weeks and when changing attachments i could press the button down and it would click and stay down which made it easier to change attachments. now when i press the button down it doesn't click and i almost need three hands - one to hold the unit, one to hold the button and one to remove the attachment.

what are other's experiences?

Just received my Dyson Big Ball Animal and very happy with it after trying it out once. I'm used to using sub £100 vacuum cleaners and this just seems to suck much better. Initially I was slightly disheartened to see that mine didn't look very nice as I could see light signs of use and some dust but using it once was enough to shut away those thoughts.

Even more happy after seeing that it is meant to retail for £370?!

As others have mentioned, it comes with a 2 year warranty so I'm happy with that too.

My only main gripe is that it comes with so many accessories and the leaflet does not explain what they're for.

I purchased a DC40 upright using this offer for £128 down from £159.99. It arrived yesterday.

What actually arrived was a brand new looking DC40 Animal which is a better (more expensive) model than the one I had ordered, and it came with several extra tools and a tool bag, in the box. This model is presently £235 on Amazon, down from an RRP of £369.99 - without the extra tools. I am absolutely delighted with this purchase.

Well worth buying a dyson refurb. They arrive like new and have guarantee.
Had mine since November last year, refurb V6 animal, came with two year guarantee not the 1 year that was stated?
Dyson's customer service is brilliant, in my opinion.
My V6 started losing suction last month, had a few replacement parts sent out free with no need to return old, but it still felt like it didn't fix the issue so an engineer was sent out who fixed it. After around a week the same issue was happening, so I contacted Dyson again and they said they will send out a full like for like replacement, it didn't, it arrived brand new boxed sealed no refurb.
Also worth noting if you have a Dyson engineer out or have a friend/relative who has had one they should get a contact/referral card and you can massive savings bigger than any of Dysons sale prices if you purchase through the engineer bloke/lady :sunglasses:

Dyson WILLcover the battery in the warranty, proof below, they replaced mine under warranty as it was on it's way out.

v6 is £179 at sonic direct with 2 year guarantee, plus £10 delivery

Well it says 2 years on the box. I'd guess that battery powered ones have a 2 year warranty.

When I added it to basket price was £130 something without using the code, so 20% off that got £108 price

They would have to include an extremely big power supply to power the motor too, so a bit harder to design, more expensive and less practical than you might think. It's a low voltage motor because it runs off a battery, not mains.

Is this only on certain models? I noticed that I only get 2 years with my V6 Animal Extra.

i made this poimt earlier all those buying the battery version after 500 cycles most li-ion batterys loose capacity and to have to pay £70 or £80 is extortionate enjoy them whilke they last.dyson should have left a connection on there and a clip of cable for those that wanna use them with wire too.not to hard to design.

A lot of these aren't significantly cheaper than new.

I was going to get the refurbished V6 trigger pro (DC58) animal (£179.99 les 20%) but then saw a brand new one at John Lewis for £179.99 (price match). Now I know I'm missing out on the 20% off, but for £36 I'd rather have it brand new and from a decent retailer, with 2 year warranty.

I bought the DC40 a few weeks ago for £112 from here and now its gone up to £160. Even with the 20% they have really hiked their prices.

Just bought the Dyson Big Ball Animal Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner for £144 after the 20% off. Seems to retail for quite a bit more so hopefully it's good. Don't think my family have had a Dyson before so expecting good things!

A refurbished V6 Animal is currently £230. I have just ordered a brand new V5 Animal Extra via Dyson for £199, including a free Spring Cleaning Kit. I did it via chat and they also upgraded my cleaning kit to a more expensive one.

Bought a cordless Total Clean after a previous deal which was recommended for combination of hard floor and carpet as has two heads. I was a bit sceptical after mixed reviews but wanted something easy to manoeuvre to avoid crashing into my freshly painted skirting boards. It is amazing, so easy to use and cleans brilliantly. Bought for £249.99 from Dyson with free delivery, interest free credit and a bit of TCB. Best £250 I ever spent and would def recommend it. No issue with the battery life or the volume of the cannister which is really easy to empty.

You are terrible! Posting this deal has caused my wife to argue with me. We have the normal V6 at the moment and did not really think £300-400 was justified on the V8, but with this deal the V8 absolute "refurb" has come down to £296.

At sub £300 I've had to bite... now the Mrs is not happy :wink:

thanks got my dc40 from dyson ebay outlet before when ebay did a 12 hour 20% off special got mine for £118 with 2 year warranty. good hoover for small flat and same motor as there newer small ball upright only difference being stronger hose and other small design changes but the dc50 great for a small house/flat and weighs only 5 or 6 kg so good for old folks. those battery ones not reccommended imo as they have a trigger you hold in to power it up giving you hand ache.and after few years new battery requred.stick to cable ones.for bigger flats/houses the dc50 and if you can afford it the filterless go for the cinetic version not sure on dc55 probably same motor as dc50 again just small improvements in hose ect.ring dyson for motor size and hose differences.

Really not impressed with my Dyson, bought a cinetic and hate the thing. The beater slows right down on most carpet and it cloggs up in the bin all the time

Bought the 'refurb' V6 few months ago and to be honest it seems like brand new when you unbox it. Nice and easy to carry around the house, like the plug in wall recharge feature. Just don't expect the power you get with a plug in vac. Saying that we have a dog and it copes fine with the hair. Recommend !

Unfortunately they class batteries as consumables, so they wouldn't.

You can get a brand new one for £179.00 on Sonic Direct (£9.99 delivery or free collection in store) and you get the 2 year manufacturers warranty, so not sure whether this is a great deal or not, bearing in mind it's refurbished??? What if the battery goes at 13 months.......you're not going to get the manufacturers warranty because it's refurbished :/

I remember now that we were told by Dyson that the problem was with the connections to the battery,not with the battery itself. Hence a replacement battery did not help. The replacement part would have cost us £70-80, which was clearly out of the question.

How are the batteries on the Dyson handhelds these days? We've had two Dyson handhelds. Battery life on both was less than 5 minutes, and within 2 years the battery was dead (on both). Tried a Gtech handheld but it was effectively useless as a cleaning device.

Apparently, code works just once per account. I wish I knew before, would have got the fan instead of the vaccumn.

Got the v6 animal last time it was on this offer, 160 quid after the 20% discount.

It's extremely well engineered, very powerful, and all in all really excellent. Mine has 20 min run time - that sounds short but we've never run out of time. It's light and quick, and we use it in our big house all the time in preference to our traditional non-battery dyson. Just install the charger/hanger somewhere convenient.
Downsides i've read are the smallish dust capacity, but it's so easy to empty that's no problem (hold the battery with two hands and open the dust compartment with two thumbs, was quite awkward before i asked a dyson rep how to empty it).
159 is a really cheap price for the quality of the Animal - and i'm certain mine was brand new instead of refurbished, there were no marks whatsoever, and it's worked perfectly for over a year now. Although it says 1year guaratee in the ad, when we registered ours, we got 2 years.

Is the V6 and V8 any good at getting the pile up in carpets ? I have a miele which is great for that but always interested if these are powerful enough to actually clean the pile and properly agiatate it instead of just rolling over the top of it.
