Price back to £349

Picked one up in the week for £319. RS agreed to knock a tenner off as Peter Tyson were selling it for £329, including an extra year warranty. Paid a total of £350 for the receiver, and 6 year extended warranty.

As far as the receiver goes, wow, a massive improvement on my ageing Yamaha.

Picked one up at the weekend to complete the TV upgrade suite, now 4K HDR is sorted for the PS4 Pro.

The Denon is a significant improvement over my Sony STR-DN840, I looked at the new DN1080 but given the history with Sony not updating its kit I gave it a wide birth as Denon have committed to Dolby Vision and HGL updates.

It's £499 which is a good price :smiley:

Dammit I was all ready to finally buy this but after reading about the 3300 I'm now going with your idea to wait for it to drop :disappointed:

there just wasn't doing it for me. setting it up is a pain and finding a right balance of spins is diff

Looking at the back I can't see any front pre-outs, is this the case or can some be configured to be front out?

I currently have a Denon 3312, which was about £975 when I first bought it.

I'm curious, with trickle down tech, how the 3300w would sound in comparison?

I got the q acoustics ones, forget the exact model, haven't installed them yet though.

Is it worth me getting the 3300 though? I'm going to continue using my q acoustics 2000 5.1 speakers for the foreseeable future. I have purchased some ceiling speakers too so I can do 5.1.2 when ready.

Will this work well with the mission mx3i floorstanders?

I have this with b&w m1s and rel t9i and sounds wicked. Much better than the onkyo I had that cost £500 before. I paid £500 a year ago and very happy

Are these Open-Box customer returns or store demo units? I'm sceptical of customer returns as there's a chance of it being a defective item. Anyone have experience buying an Open Box?

What benefit does the 3300 have over the 2300?

Soon as this hits £299, i will go for it. In prep for when I get an 4k TV with HDR.

Is now the time to jump on this? I have been waiting, and with the new models available will this become impossible to get hold of?
