Don't waste your money, total waste of time, with a tap connected and low pressure and cold water you would be better of using few buckets of warm water the a watering can of detergent and warm water.

Or even less if you buy 1 with the gun and 2 refills at £8 each? (£17.60 for the 3 items)

Good foam and nice smell but not so good on the cleaning part. Only comparing this to autobrite which was pretty good but expensive so bought 3 for 2 trade drums of this stuff, well you never know if anythings good until you've tried it.

25ltr of the carplan trade hi foam can be got at others for around £26

I just meant the foam in general its nice and thick, other ones I've tried have been terrible.
Cherry snowfoam is my main one.
But been told to add a little AutoGlym shampoo conditioner to this Demon to make it work better

Not really worth the time or money, not much cleaning use, however a good deal if it's a product you like.
Personally speaking worth spending the money on jetwash and proper snow foam lance, but that's not for everyone!

Thanks mate! I've got this without the nozzle, its the same stuff though. I bought it from Asda for £5 as its on offer.
The amount I used was five cap fulls and filled my Karcher snow foam lance half way with water. Managed to get the car fully covered twice with a teeny bit left over.
Seems it'll go a long way if you don't often snow foam your car.

Is this the stuff that smells like sexual marzipan? Washes well. Bought one for £2.50 from wilko a couple of years ago which has only just run out.

That sounds good. Do you think the foam would work with this little karcher with the foam bottle it comes with? I bought this a a couple of weeks ago but I haven't opened it yet as I might return it as I don't know if it will be up to much. I have an older K4 that is down on power and is "pulsing" so it's away with a mate to see if he can mend it.

If its pulsing its just the seals, there an easy enough fix, I normally get a new pressure washer every couple of years, give it to a mate and he changes the seals, sure he buys them direct from Karcher.
I wouldn't have a clue how well this lance works on the bottle, looks a bit awkward to use for my liking so I'll stick with my proper snow foam lance as I can adjust the nozzle size and foam thickness.
I only use it as a quick once over any dust and loose dirt

Had my alloys done with this, a lary Orange Focus ST with black alloys, was not impressed, where clean but very dull looking no shine.

Haven't tried this stuff but using a proper foam lance can make all the difference from snow foam appearing to be rubbish to actually being really good.

What do people honestly think of snow foam as a cleaning product?

I bought some Autoglym Pressure Wash a couple of years back, when used with a Karcher pressure washer and lance I was very disappointed with the results. It was great fun, but it left a thick film of surface dirt behind.

A quick pre-rinse with the hose pipe followed by a proper wash with a washmit and bucket filled with warm water and some decent car shampoo was far more effective in my experience.

To be honest the majority of people don't even know what the car is lol.
I'm always washing it and people either say "Do mine next mate..." Or "Is it an ST"... Or theres the people who ask why I've got two buckets.
Some people prefer just going through a car wash but I prefer to do it myself, if you keep ontop it takes hardly any time to do.
When I first got it, it had quite a bit of tar so the clay bar came out.
This snow foam is ideal if you just want a quick once over.

I'm with you on this one. I read rave reviews about snow foam and bought a small bottle of what seemed to be the favourite; Valet PRO ph neutral. I jetted my car first with plain water to remove the worst of the muck then used snow foam with the pressure washer lance. It was fun to see. I left it on for a good 20-30 mins expecting magic, but I can't say I noticed any benefit at all. I still had to wash the car with a mitt as usual (I wasn't expecting to avoid this) and it seemed no easier.

I've done 3-4 washes with it and so far I'm feeling it's the emperor's new clothes. What am I doing wrong?

I can thoroughly recommend AutoGlym Aqua wax as a brilliant, good value finisher though.

You can get a top end foam for this price from Bilt Hamber so very poor IMHO.

Snow foam isn't meant for washing a car, its just to take loose dirt off. And leaving it on for that long isn't what you do, leave it for minutes max and blast it off.

Does it take loose dirt off better than pressured water? All the detailing forums I looked at said you should leave it on as long as possible. Definitely seems like a waste of money.

I don't know about leaving it on for 20 minutes, I only left it on for around 5 mins before rinsing with the pressure washer.

Either way though the car wasn't much cleaner than when I started and I was left thinking that the whole exercise was pretty pointless.

Snow foam used correctly will remove 95% of the dirt. If you want the car "clean" then you will need to wash it.
Never leave it on more than five minutes and the better forums will tell you this over and over again. Leaving it to dry will stain the paint.
The trick for success id to 1) get a good product - that is easy as the best by a mile is Bilt Hamber Auto Foam. 2) getting the application correct. Many use with a hose or pressure washer, but anyone who knows about this uses neither. The problem with using the products this way is getting the dilution ratio right when it hits the car. e.g. the BH stuff should be around 4%. The easiest way is to use a garden sprayer a nd dilute exactly. It doesn't "foam" this way, but that is irrelevant and foaming is not needed as it is the product that does the work.
Used this way you will get the car visibly clean every time.
This particular product is a gimmick. Get a garden sprayer and a decent product.

Thanks for replying. Loose dirt by definition sounds like it come off easily with a pressure washer. I really do appreciate your reply and it has convinced me not to buy any again :smiley:
