Alienware has previously gone over 300 degrees hot but offer has nearly run out. Settled on a 15" 1050 model for £870 which seems a good price when 13" are over a grand. Went Alienware as their thermals are great on their new laptops.

XPS are such a great bargain though for anyone looking for the best all rounder available.

Nice to see Dell has gone back to top quality over all else.

no I used the amount before vat, it is 790.00 with vat added and the 15% taken off.

The model you used above isn't the same as the model you linked to.
There was only 1 in stock of the lower res screen at £775 and it is now gone. Probably be another one on later.

All things considered, there's some crazy good deals on there. A decent setup with a 1060 for £1k... not a bad price considering the next cheapest around is generally around £1200. The alienware laptops aren't worth retail price but they generally ARE better built/nicer keyboard than a few others and most have the option of the graphics amp port for adding a bigger desktop card when it's at home on the desk...

Really good. I was pricing up building my own PC recently and just noticed an Aurora R5 appear with a GTX 1080 for under £900. It's missing an SSD which I'll probably buy separately and I'll probably want to buy some more RAM eventually but considering I'd be paying almost £500 for the same memory card by itself it feel like a great deal to me.

Considering my current memory card is a laptop GTX 675M that's quite an upgrade.

They seem to have quite bad reviews on Trustpilot

Yeah, I was between the two and on paper the XPS did seem a better deal. It's a £370 price difference though for the ones on the outlet currently and does have a few (very minor) downsides that makes it slightly less upgradable going forward. It does seem an amazing deal though, the parts would cost you more by themselves.

From the reading I did the processor shouldn't be an issue for the moment. The SSD is the only thing I want right now so I'm happy spending a bit less now and using that money later when I do want to upgrade something later.

Yep. The very best have gone, but they restock daily at around 3pm.

Was that with the voucher? Prices I were seeing were lower even for new with pretty much top specs.

That's why I ordered the Aurora when I did though. I was happy with the price and I know I'd end up spending hours researching other deals and refreshing the new stock every day if I didn't buy now.

@rog I used the code for XPS a couple of days ago and it worked no problem. £1100 for a pretty much maxed out xps 15 (but with the FHD screen), seems like a good deal! Hopefully the QC won't turn out to be a problem..

I received my "scratch and dent" alienware laptop yesterday. Can't see a mark on it. It's what I would expect to get if it was brand new!

I tried to call dell Customer service Number today (top left hand side of their site) and got the Automated run around and had to select the "Ive made a purchases inquiry" Option then ask them to put me though to a sales rep finally (didn't get his name), i was asking about Aurora R5 And R6 and XPS (well trying too) but the crap attitude from the sales rep made me think twice on the whole thing i said that it was my understanding (which could be wrong) one machine Aurora R6 with a Core i5-7400, "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB GDDR5" had a better graphics card than a Aurora R6 Core I7600, "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050Ti with 4GB GDDR5" Graphics card and why this was? but he kept referring to the processor and saying the graphics card had nothing to do with the price etc which automatically raised concerns (I'm a little tech savvy) and i know well fine graphics card has got plenty to do with things if I'm gonna pay £1000+ on a machine i want to know the specs of parts am paying for and all possible upgrade options as an extra £50 or £100 upgrade can make a huge different to everything long term. he eventually said the Aurora R6's Core I5 graphics card was better than the core I7 machine (i don't how much difference he said not much though) and he didn't know why this was, then a little bit later he said he was to do with over all cost, a high processor with a lower graphics card was a cost thing which made no sense to both of us and this was a "Dell" thing. why pay £1000+ for a machine with a lesser graphics card (which you would probably have to upgrade) i found out you can upgrade a Core i7-6700 (locked) to a Core i7-6700K Processor (Unlocked for Overclocking for £80) i was also asking about the discount codes and when i did they guy's attitude went from bad to worse and he more or less made out I was making it up there's no 15% off code and to go buy it online, at which point i had to cut the call answer my door and speak to someone. that sales rep made me think twice on the whole thing, Ive got no doubts about buying a machine, but doubt it will soon, and doubt be from Dell

The computers in the outlet are returned machines so it depends how the person configured them. It sounds like someone probably built a machine with the wrong graphics card and once they realised their mistake (after reading it) sent it back for a refund.

You sometimes get some weird configurations on the outlet for this type of reason and these are the ones that tend to stick around as the pricing just doesn't seem as attractive for what you are getting.
