So, if weren't planning on paying anything off for 6 months you'd still need to pay the delivery charge in the first month to stop interest accumulating on that - if you don't pay it, it also means you've technically missed a payment.

For the record, I have no issues with Very other than their slightly shoddy customer service when something goes wrong, but a bit of persistence sorts that out pretty quickly

Would John Lewis price match?

Mine is 7th Gen. The 2nd from right number denotes the CPU gen; e.g. 5368 is 6th Gen, 5378 is 7th Gen.

I've got one of these, great machine. I never use the backlight for the keyboard though!
Got mine from John Lewis for £600 with a free three year warranty so hopefully not too much interaction with Dell themselves.


Criticisms:
No dedicated Home, End, Page Up or Page Down keys;
Mouse buttons are integrated into the touch pad and I really like them to be separate.
"Intelligent" headphone socket is a real pain in the ****.

Well, not officially. Dell and crucial will tell you 16gb but I don't see any reason why this wont support 16gb modules.

I got one of these for £475 from the Dell Outlet as a certified refurb. Unfortunately it was faulty and it was a right faff returning it to Dell. When it did work it was really nippy, although the trackpad wasn't the greatest. Hot from me for the price though for a new one.

Got this laptop on the dell Black Friday deal and it's awesome. Looks great, has a good solid feel to it. Super quick, takes 20 seconds to power it up to the windows screen. Can't say enough good things about this laptop.

If your budget won't quite stretch to this, Currys/PC World and John Lewis have a lesser-spec version (i3, 4Gb, 126Gb) for £499. JL give a three year warranty.

No you're wrong, there's many Dell models that don't have backlit keyboards. I know this because I work as an IT refurbisher and we see loads of different laptops. The laptop in this deal is very nicely constructed and has a good design, one of my favourites at the moment.

Standard laptop processor, not a rebranded Atom derivative, It should handle whatever you want to do fine.
