DC40 Animal + Spring Cleaning kit and free next day delivery looks pretty good at £199. Comes with 5 years guarantee, which is always nice.
The kit adds to checkout automatically, so no need for a code or anything like that. I think the extra tools are well worth the extra spend over the stand alone DC40 Animal / DC40

Totally, waste of money. I paid £299 6 months ago. My stairs are dirty thanks to this vacuum. Very heavy and impossible to clean stairs. It took them 20 years to engineer this crap.

Just to let you know I ordered mine yesterday and I spoke to dyson on the live chat and traded the spring clean kit for the home cleaning kit (usually £44) the home clean kit is more useful in my opinion as it has more tools than the spring clean kit

Just received my DC40 - what a great vacuum cleaner! Can't believe how much dust and dirt it picks up!

I have the dc40 and it's really heavy. Using the onboard tools with the inflexible hose is like tug of war. Just my two pence worth.

When you say heavy, do you mean heavy to lift or heavy to push and pull while vacuuming?

Lot people say it's heavy I have one and after a dc 14 it's light as a feather

I have a dyson I've used for a decade. It's started failing after many good years. Perfect timing... and I also asked for the home cleaning kit, rather htan the spring cleaning option. I think this is a good deal with the extras direct from Dyson. If it's as good as my old DC25 I'll be happy...

Thanks. I just converted 6.6kg to stones. It weighs a stone just over which is what one of my dogs weighs and he is as light as a feather. I don't see how people find 1 stone heavy, any thanks for your reply.

OK, bought it. Being delivered tomorrow and the free home cleaning kit arrives in 3 to 5 days thereafter. You also get a 35 day cooling off period if it turns out to be rubbish. That's a lot longer than most who usually say 14 days in my experience.

6.6 kilos is nothing? I remember the old steel (possibly aluminium?) Hoovers. They were like Sherman tanks! I suppose it's whatever you're used to...

Wether you use the actual tools or base plate to hoover the stairs it's hard work. As soon as you use the onboard tools it also weakens the handle. It's just a bulky over priced vac in my opinion. It doesn't push well or pick up that great.

Completely agree! The hose is so awkward to use and it chokes on any form of hair/fine dust. Got a Shark Powered Lift-Away for the same price as this deal with a free steam mop which is miles better than this, easier for stairs and picks up everything first time!

funny people saying the vacumn isn't good. I recently bought this exact model and it's brilliant. very powerful suction, my wife has long hair and it gets stuck to our carpet. my old cleaner just couldn't get it up without me getting down on my knees with the tool and going at it for ages. This one just gets the hair up so easily. would definitely recommend.

Arrived this morning. £199 all in and the home cleaning kit's due in the next few days too. First impressions are good. Lighter than my old DC25 but definitely more effective. That might be because it's brand new. Time will tell. I also find the ball mechanism and rolling has improved. It was easier to get under the wall radiators and get into tight corners.
It definitely isn't either heavy or ineffective at its job. For the money I'm happy right now... It's a step up from my old trusty DC25

Why is it still £370 for me? Am I clicking on the wrong link? Has the deal expired? Thanks

We have this - Amazing dirt pick up compared to my old Dyson, it really does an astonishing job, but the flexy hose is literally unusable, it keeps pulling itself back in and if you use any force the vacuum then falls over, what a stupid design from an otherwise innovative company? How the hell did they get this wrong!!!

I'm guessing that it's a product of the thing being lighter overall than my old DC25. I'm betting that you can get an extension hose if needed though??

mine has been delivered today! might have to hoover with the V6 before just to see how much extra this pulls up lol

That is the extension, its like a coil hose, or more like a spring, horrible - still amazes me how good it cleans the floor, hope its the same in a few years. It is a bit cheap and plastic is thinner than my 10 yr old Dyson which was as tough as a Henry. I got mine for £120ish refurb from Dyson with warranty, the offer comes up every so often, wouldn't pay over £130 (non animal version) tbh.
