That's why I see these benefit programs where they have no money but Barbour Jackets and Converse baby shoes in the cot. They are actually saving the tax payer money by buying items that will last. The downside to buying them for primark at a fraction of the cost is that you would have bought shoes from primark. They are poor imitations, the leather converse shoes with the nike inner soles are fantastic.

How can Converse run out of stock of their own product? This seems like a way to get people on their website buying other products at inflated prices by offering a few products with big reductions and barely any stock.

I nearly bought a pair of shoes listed at £55 with the 25% discount but I stopped when I saw the normal price in other shops is usually between £30-40.

QuidCo :laughing: I've been waiting 7 months for them to calculate 10% of ~£305 with numerous emails going back and forth to support and the retailer, where after 4 months they thought the answer was ~£9. Useless.

Because I was using outlook I had to click open in browser then I could see the sign up option at the bottom, also to bear in mind that the first email you receive doesnt contain the code, its only when you fill in the sign up application at the bottom of the page that you will get the code on the second email. Hope this helps someone.

Totally agree. I have a pair of converse bought in an outlet store in Florida 10 years ago which still look good even after being worn lots. Lucky if primark ones last a holiday! Though I did get a pair of the Pravda lookalikes yesterday!!

It's still working. Have you used a code with this email you are using? I have had all my codes sent to one email that's for junk and tried to use my normal email to process my second order (same one I used for my first order) but it didn't let me and came up with an error.

I had to go through the checkout process, enter my delivery details, change the email that is required and then went back to my basket after I saved the changes to add code and it worked. So can only make one order (with code) per email it seems. FYI I havent even registered an account for converse.

My order was cancelled as they 'could not verify my payment/shipmemt info'. I rang customer service and they could verify everything. So I think it's another way for company to get out of a deal?

I got the 'not active' code when I signed up yesterday. Just tried again to sign up with the same email, I got another 'thanks for signing up' email but it also said 'not active'. Think there is something wrong with their databases.

Might be worth contacting them as it says 'Sign up and receive 25% off your next purchase in May!' with no specific date so it should work still. Hopefully they wanted it to be available for the whole month but with so many people swarming them something had to give.

Well good luck! The only thing that tickled my fancy were the chuck II lux leather, it was only the price that swayed my decision to buy.

I ended up phoning them. If you place an order and call them exactly 45 minutes later (I was told not sooner or later than this) on 02035142048 they will retrospectively apply the discount. They are unable to generate new codes.

When you place the initial order, your card is not actually charged (just verified). Card is charged upon dispatch.

Does the site use US or UK sizes?

The link takes you to the UK version of the converse site, so UK sizes.

Just ordered 2 more pairs. saved £13 over the whole order. free delivery. free returns. GOOGLE email users. one code for both your @gmail and @googlemail addresses (come through to the same inbox) in case you need 2 codes for 2 separate orders.

You will need to use a different email to process a second order as it's one email per code as far as I know.

Also for anyone who has received the wrong item I would urge you to contact converse, customer service number is 02035142048 (Phones are open Mon-Fri 8am - 8pm and Sat from 10am - 6pm). I'm sure they must be able to do something ie maybe send your item when it's available, compensation etc.

Called Converse and unfortunately they don't offer any kind of exchange etc. and so the only option is to return them for a refund...or find someone with size 5 feet to give them away to.

I got my order dispatched a few days after my order. Still havent got a delivery date or tracking number.

Among others, I ordered the John Varvatos Chuck II coated leather low tops, but when comparing the shoes I've received to photos on the net, mine don't appear to have any sort of coating. Those on the web have a slight sheen to them, but mine look and feel like rough suede. Anyone else order these?

I was going to get these however i was put of by the term 'coated leather' when compared to the chuck II 'lux leather'

Coated leather is defined as a product that has a finish thickness of less than 30 percent but greater than 0.15 mm. The British Standards for leather state that if the leather is coated, the thickness of the surface layer must be less than 0.15 mm to be described as genuine leather; therefore, coated leather cannot be called genuine leather

More sizes have been adding. I have been checking the last few days and they seem to add more sizes in the evening or first thing in the morning. Seems to be coming in and out of stock - whether people returning or items being held in peoples baskets etc.

The 25% code is no longer working and it has now dropped down to 15%. Thats with a code i had applied for when it said 25% off a purchase, hwoever when i looked at my email there is no mention of "25% off in May".

Still a good saving to converse Chuck II leather for £66 with quidco hopefully to follow
