my family friends from Asia were on their 2 week Europe trip. they had brought with themselves a global sim card for their roaming which had a no. beginning 077000 I thought it would be free to call them from my O2 inclusive minutes. thats when I realized its a Jersey mobile number. It led me to search the internet , various forums n HUKD for cheaper ways to call the channel islands mobile.
most of the phone companies charge quite a decent amount as the channel islands are a completely different entity in terms of network providers. While I was doing my groceries I checked with the tesco mobile shop the rates for Jersey mobile numbers. they said those were classified as UK Numbers. so great then.it would be a 1p/ min for mobile and 0p/ free to landlines.
I have been using the calling card to call my family n friends in Asia previously but this was just a one off thing that I had to use it to call a jersey number.
the landlines are effectively free with the minimum top up or With Free £1 credit for first time app downlaoders.
thought I have to post it because there will b people who will have family / friends temporarily or permanently resident in the channel islands and Incase they were unaware. hope it helps some :wink:

No bad thing that this has a separate thread, fill yer boots!
As you say, they are not included in most calling plans and has always been a bit of an anomaly as they look just like other UK numbers, It almost as if the phone companies like it that way, I wonder why!!
