Not the simplest deal to explain (hence the mile long title), but bear with me and I'll try my best

OK, so BT have a 20GB Sim offer on at the moment for a contract duration of 12 months, scoring you a £100 iTunes / Amazon gift card. If you are a BT Broadband customer already, you can make an extra saving, possibly dropping the plan down to £11.66!

It's also worth noting that should the prices in your contract change during the term, BT will allow you to cancel the contract without additional fees! ( Something that's getting rarer these days...)

Time for Math!

Non BT

25 * 12 = 300 - £100 giftcard = 200 / 12mo = £16.66PM

BT Cust

20 * 12 = 240 -£100 giftcard = 140 / 12mo = £11.66PM!

Also worth mentioning that BT uses EE's network, to give you an idea of what kind of service to expect in your area. You can always check for coverage HERE

And that's it! Hopefully it helps someone :innocent:

Unfortunately you can't pay your bill with Amazon vouchers or iTunes credits, so this deal's effective monthly cost is on the assumption that you already plan to buy £100 of Amazon/iTunes products in cash, and can set that money aside to pay in to the contract.

the logic of someone saying that getting a £100 vocuher doe s not have any impact because you are paying the same monthly rate in nonsense, i wonder why some people bother making the effort to post deals with the attitute of those that moan and offer little else to the site ! If you are not happy then say thanks but no but to moan at someone that is helping is quite staggering - try offering an alternative and be productive !

If anyone is planning to TRAVEL / ROAM with this sim at all, do no sign up - BT do not let you roam for the first 6 months, unbelievable, I got one 3 months ago and travel extensively with my business - I had to take out another sim with three to allow me to roam - People will say I should have read the small print, but I didn't for a second imagine such a stupid rule could exist! Can not wait until my year is up.

I would avoid Bt like the plague when it comes to data allowances- many years back I got stung for a £400 phone bill because I didn't notice the fair use clause in their "unlimited plan then- learnt my lesson and went to three for proper unlimited after that- maybe good deal for those low/careful users but just thought I'd mention it

Never transferred a number across to them yet but will be soon. I guess it's straight forward like all other providers tbh.

You won't be able to transfer your number to the new BT Sim or get the £100 as you are currently withthem already.

However if you order the sim as a new customer i.e under your wifes name or something then what you want to do

- get a hold of a Pay as you go Sim from e.g Three.
- get PAC Code from Current BT Sim and Transfer your current Phone number from BT to the Three Pay as you go Sim.
- Once the number has transferred to the New Three sim then get a PAC code from Three.
- Give BT the PAC code you received from Three for the new BT Sim.

And Voilà you now have your number on the new BT Sim and also £100 Amazon Voucher.

Hopefully that makes sense haha.

This is what I'm going to do next year when this sim I am ganna buy expires. Its worth a day or two of very little agro for £100.

P.S there might be an easier way but this is the only way I know lol. I hope I got Everything correct and someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes this is the one mate. No need to go through anyone ... Just go directly onto BT and order. Simples.

Also better be quick the off with £100 Amazon voucher is going to end tomorrow.

Reason it went cold is because people are odd and they obviously have no idea.

Just be aware I got stung for going over my 20gb allowance by 1gb of data and I got charged £80 f...g pounds. The ratio is not automatically capped. Very good coverage though for me so cannot complain about then but when I go to Ireland I get a 3 mobile sim as BT charge a fortune for roaming.

I agree.
People who post deals with a total payment, and then deducts an amazon voucher, or a food ticket, or you're great Aunt Rose's antique sideboard are becoming an issue on this site. Adding an item as an incentive is one thing, but it matters not that it's a "free" Amazon voucher or a "free" TV, in no reality do they play any part whatsoever in the cost of the contract over 12 months, and should never, ever be included in it.
Site admin need to clamp down on that kind of misleading junk posts.

After being with BT for over 12 months - I'd say that even though they own EE - you're probably better off with EE direct.

I'm on BT because I managed to get a decent £8pm deal. Reception is poor as is internet, I can tolerate it (just) for £8pm but doubt I will keep it at the end of the year. If you are a heavy data user I would give it a miss. Light to moderate use you might be able to tolerate it but generally I would steer clear if you can get on one of the bigger networks for a few quid more on an equivalent plan.

BT Mobile - When things go wrong:

When things go wrong on BT SIMO contracts - does anybody have experience in how to get a satisfactory resolution without having to waste hours on the phone going up through each successive level of C.S.

I'm talking about a name / department which is higher than your 1st line customer services. I need to get to somebody ( specific name /email address would be fantastic) with authority that can sort out the problem and make it right.

I've been a BT SIMO customer for 14 months already - and its been administrative mistake after mistake on my account.

I am not sure about BT, But for EE the experience was aweful. I did not remember by bank account details, while speaking to a lady CS officer of EE. So i was told to go to a local EE shop to identify myself until which customer care wouldn't support me with any queries. During the second call, after an hour on the call speaking the same thing again and again with another guy and then with another lady CS supervisor, i finally said i wanted to Quit EE, the answer was - you still have to go to EE shop to do this
I had to drop the call saying "we are wasting time"

Good deal - but the BT wi-fi is a joke - I'm on EE and have to turn off my wi-fi when I go out because it keeps picking up the BT wi-fi which is about 2mb download speed, it's truly awful.
jaypr
3 May 17 #27
Worth mentioning that if you are currently a Three customer and you login to the website and look at their "exclusive offers". You can get an additional SIM deal for £16 a month(12 month contract) that includes 30GB data, 600 minutes, All-you-can-eat texts. You can use the data as personal hotspot and you get the feel at home roaming too.

Just left BT. Found the wifi out an about to be a pain in the backside. it often switches automatically but then has log in issues so I found myself just switching it off most of the time and using my own data.
jhonny20041433
3 May 17 #23
Misleading title. You should put monthly price after voucher deduction (based on selling price of voucher). This is far better than cashback deals, as you're guaranteed the voucher. To say it is the same is ridiculous.
plewis00 to jhonny20041433
3 May 17 #28
No you shouldn't, because that's not how HUKD works. You can get auto-cashback deals and people who post those are not allowed to include the discount so this isn't any different. And it is written clearly enough now, just that I personally wouldn't have it because I don't trust BT and I wouldn't go with an MVNO (because you are a lower priority when the network is congested - just ask a GiffGaff customer).
Orville
3 May 17 1 #26
Voted hot. I just used this BT offer to get EE to "price-match". EE could not provide exactly the same deal, but put me on their 20GB for £25pm contact with £10pm loyalty discount. Final price was £15pm for 20GB data with unlimited calls and texts.

Note that EE would not provide the above deal until after I requested the PAC (number portation) code. I know that EE and BT uses the same network.
deany76
3 May 17 #24
I guess this would be good for apple music subscribers- 10 months paid for by BT.

Worth noting
I think EE do very good contract Sim only unlimited deals, with a fair bit of data for under £15.00 based on £16.49 for 20GB

yep I agree with plewis00, deducting the value of the voucher from the contract total makes no sense. Common hukd practice now i know but no one ever mentions it.

3 May 17 #16
I agree that the voucher discounts your monthly fee. you could easily sell the voucher for £80 making the monthly costs cheaper or also shop at Amazon? who doesn't. get a grip. you get 100 pounds free when signing up to the sim. simple. stop moaning Christ.
plewis00 to mashcogs
3 May 17 #20
In the same way that you shouldn't include cashback in a price. The voucher has 'added value' for sure, but it doesn't deduct directly off the price - and no-one has really been moaning, just pointing out the truth but people get so precious about their deals... anyway it is written more clearly now.

NIgelK
2 May 17 1 #11
It's not nonsense. The figures quoted aren't right. You still pay BT the same, the voucher is for iTunes or Amazon no? So how does that make the BT monthly cost cheaper? I see you're sticking up for this, fair enough, but putting a public post up be prepared for the public to criticise it when it's not correct.
plewis00
2 May 17 #10
He said misleading, which it is, and not confusing, which it isn't. The voucher has some good added value but not if you wanted a deal for £16 and it's actually £25. But your argument is no-one's allowed to critique it. Next time you'll claim people aren't allowed to vote cold...

The only reason BT give £5 off for existing customers is because they rip you off for line rental vs the others and try to repurpose your router with junk like BT-with-FON then charge other customers for providing WiFi through a link you are paying for.
