After recently missing out on the previous TCB cashback BT fibre deal, I discovered this next one lined up was even better.

BT are currently running a "no activation fee" promo which takes 59.99 upfront costs away.

TCB offering £110 cashback on infinity/calls package.

And because TCB mention the '£100 mastercard' in the promotion on their own page, then they must honour that too.

9.99 delivery charge on the router. 28.99 a month if you use the link from TCB (I think BT's own links routes you to a higher price).

28.99x12 = 347.88
+9.99 = 357.87

357.88 - £110 (tcb) - £100 (mstrcrd) = 147.87.

General concensus is to allow TCB to track and confirm before applying for mastercard from BT.

Gutted cabinet not yet infinity enabled (in a local town) so have to pay a lot more eacj with far less cashback for a much slower service :disappointed:

Just took up a BT offer we had through the post. Basically BT infinity 1 for a tenner a month. No need to be new customer, hope cash back tracks, apply for card, use card, change number blah.

It's yours so you can give it away if you wish. When my contract ended in January & I moved ISP, BT sent me mailing bags to "recycle" my router. I didn't return it & heard no more.

Do you own the router with BT or are you just renting it? I'm not using mine and want to know whether I can give it to a friend or whether I have to keep it for a year when I will likely cancel and move elsewhere - will they want it back?

Hoping someone can help me out here.

Looking at the Quidco cashback offers, there's a £120 one for New Customer Infinity, Calls and TV.
There's also the £70 for New Customer Infinity and Calls (no TV).
They both link to the same BT offers page.
Am I right in thinking I can pick the £120 offer, then pick the BT product and add Starter +BT Sport on the TV page to qualify?

Will you definitely receive the cash back and reward card?
I can imagine how messy and confusing your next bill will be, they just bung every service you have old and new onto it, despite the due dates and you have to work out whether they are cheating you or not because they make mistakes all the time - so much so, it actually looks like it's on purpose sometimes!

I doubt the BT sport only thing will qualify for the £120 cashback to be honest - But you can try! It's all tracked behind the scenes so it's worth a shot

These free install deals are not always on.

If you switch to someone who uses BT lines then u wont have to pay, but BT offer the best speeds on their lines as they own them, so ull end up with a crap service if u switch from them.

Virgin are the best around but if u switch to them they use their own lines so u have to pay BT.

Either way BT always win, if youre happy to sit on crappy internet for a year then u could be fine but i need decent speeds.

This particular deal no, but there are always deals involving cash back & Mastercard. But you said in posts #77 & #79 that you'd had to pay a setup charge for this deal.

Sorry but this simply isn't true as a general statement. It may be your particular experience but there are numerous folk that have moved to another provider & achieved the same or better speeds. I can vouch for that as I switched away from BT in January.

So there is always a setup fee, but there isn't with this deal. So not quite 'always'.

Looking at the page you've linked it says you'll be charged if you "Switch to another Broadband provider without following the standard transfer process". I imagine most people will just switch to another provider to get a better deal after 12 months (I know I will), but I'd follow the standard process so presumably will be fine.
rbz5416
29 May 17 #83
Ah so it's a cessation fee rather than a leaving fee. I understand now.

seanmorris100
29 May 17 #81
No, you have to pay it - http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/products/broadband-cease-charge/?s_cid=con_FURL_ceasecharges

Of Course there is a setup charge, they always charge £60 setup but its free with this deal and £32 when you leave, unless you leave to use a company who will pay that for you, such as plusnet as they use BT lines.

If you leave BT for Virgin, youll have to pay it, and in my case i left BT to rejoin them to get it cheaper as their customer service is so bad to sort a decent deal out for me...

I would avoid BT at all costs but they are the only decent provider to my house.

PS. Dunno why i was charged £32 as it says £31 on that link lul...
rbz5416
29 May 17 #80
Then I'm confused who your post was aimed at?

There is no setup charge on this deal.

I've just checked the T&Cs & if you were out of contract, then you would only have had to pay to pay to leave if you didn't give them 30 days notice.

BT T&Cs
seanmorris100
29 May 17 #79
No Im saying i paid £92 to leave BT to rejoin them to get a better price, my contract is over BT still charge you to leave them even if you contract is over, its in their terms and conditions...
rbz5416
29 May 17 1 #78
If you're saying you've paid £92 to leave Sky following a price increase, you've been had. You have 30 days from when they notify you of a price increase to terminate the contract without penalty. That's exactly what I've just done four months into a Plusnet contract.
seanmorris100
29 May 17 #77
Remember there is a £60 setup charge and £32 leaving charge.

Ive just had to pay both and rejoin BT to get a cheaper deal as they put my current plan up to £45 from £32, im now on £28 but had to pay the £92 as it works out cheaper still...

Worst customer support ever but Virgin dont supply over the road to me but they do the other side lol... wtf :\

£70 for Fibre and phone with Quidco - £130 if you take TV as well. TCB deal is £110 for fibre and phone.

I went with Quidco as I switched to BT with them before and got the cashback and the Mastercard. Then switched back to PlusNet with them when BT upped their prices and got the cashback.

So I've gone for £70 which I've got a pretty good chance of getting, rather than £110 which I may or my not get.

29 May 17 #64
Just informed Plusnet that I'll be leaving due to their price hikes.

Now not sure what to do-go through Quidico? through TCB? or wait to see if better offer will show up as both cashback sites 'expire' rates tomorrow

Not sure why I'm trying to help to be honest giving the way you've come across but if you was getting 72mb and it's dropped to 45mb you clearly have a line fault, you must live next to your street cabinet, an isp tried to get away with my speed degradation before as I was still inside the range they quoted when I signed up but I just had to be persistent, with you however I guess they quoted the 72mb ish when you signed up? Or you can look at bt wholesale website I think and will show what you should expect on a fault free line.

Mark43
28 May 17 #59
You're saying they actually told you that you would get 72mb or that you assumed with the 72mb product you would get 72mb? You simply enter your address details and it estimates what you can actually get. Or are you saying you placed the order and are not getting the minimum speed you were promised? If that's the case I believe they have to try to sort it and let you cancel the contract if they can't.

No, £3.50 pm from 1st August or no charge on the Total Entertainment package.

On 25th there was a 1 day special. I got the total entertainment TV package including BT sport in UHD, 76Mbs for price of 52Mbs, newest TV box and router, weekend calls and caller display. No activation fee. £130 tcb & £125 MasterCard. 12month contract £41.99 a month. However I had to call to confirm 76Mb offer and luckily took a screenshot of the deal on their page as it went through checkout as 52. Works out £21.50 a month after tcb and mastercard. Bargain. Only been with plusnet for 2 months and they upped their line rental so grabbed the deal and will move again when BT do the same.

Couple of comments as I'm tempted & can get out of my Plusnet contract due to their price increases.

If you take the "free" TV starter pack it appears that you are committing to paying for BT Sport from 1st August.

I can't find anywhere in the order customisation to select line rental saver.

As for TCB, I've had very few problems. Last time I took a BT offer through them it actually paid out higher than advertised & the Mastercard arrived promptly too.

BT uses FTTC (Fibre to the cabinet) at the moment. From the main telephone exhange in your town, to the green cabinet near your house, is fibre cable. At this stage it's MUCH faster than copper.

However, from the cabinet to your house it's your old normal copper cables. Same you've utilised for ADSL, and even Dial up.

With this in mind, the connection still enters your house at the BT master socket, as it always has done.

Routing ethernet to your computer (15m away) I'd recommend using a 'powerline adapter', which have always been brilliant for me, or just run a long cat6e cable to where you need it.

Hope this answers your queries !
Meathotukdeals
28 May 17 #22
So how do BT get the cable to your house (dig up garden? How deep wide the trench?). Then will they leave the router at the point it enters the house? You see I like wired Ethernet to my PCs and they are 15m away from where current BT phone line enters house.

The Starter TV package works out even cheaper as there is no extra monthly cost to add it.

28.99 x 12 = 347.88
+ 19.99 = 367.87

367.87 - £125 (TCB) - £100 (Reward) = £142.87

Plus, you'll get BT's standard YouView box along with the extra TV channels.
