I have these and they are brilliant. Think this is a great price from Amazon.de too.
Update:
Silver now back to 279 Euros.

I'm sure they are...but...they're not noise cancelling or wireless?
I tried these Bose ones in the airport after pairing up my iPhone to them and was very impressed. I run Sennheiser HD600's and Shure in ear ones normally.

If you fly (or use trains) regularly, don't hesitate. 2 noisy douches opposite me in the 'Quiet' carriage now and these, plus a bit of Sigur Ros are saving my sanity.
1000x's are superior if you can get a decent deal.

I weighed the two up before buying the Bose. The Sony's are heavier and more bulky IMO. I also didn't really like the touch interface. I did like the muting option using your hand but that wasn't enough to sway me. I ended up getting mine for £289 at JL with a pricematch.
Touch choice though I agree - but I have not been dissapointed.

Great deal, and lovely headphones. The noise cancelling is amazing. But not enough Bass for me and ended up with Backbeat Pro's which have useless noise cancelling.

Hong Kong company, so not worth the saving over Amazon.

Check them with your own music before purchasing. I listen R&B music and no bass is the biggest problem for me. Was considering Sony 1000x but they can be also tried in John Lewis before buy. This saves me a lot of money. Ended up with Back Beat Pro 2 and bass is just superb! Noise cancelling is acceptable :-) Try before buy !

Can someone give me a crash guide to buying through other amazon domains? how does this work?

It's much the same as buying through UK amazon. Simply sign in & order. You will be billed in Euros so use a friendly card for forex. Your browser should offer to translate for you too.

As far as I remember, you log in with same email and pass as your UK account (or any other country) and that's it, you should find your card (if saved) and addresses. Amazon seems to have a "unified" account for all the domains. They'll also propose to pay in £ if you are buying in €

*** neg review ***
Good price but I do not recommend them.
- Firstly, they really hurt my ears when I got them, gave me headaches and motion sickness - it cleared up after about a week of getting used to.
- The sound quality IS NOT good, as you would expect.
I was expecting mind blowing sound performance, but Bose really isn't great for sound. I sold my pair and invested in Audio Technica MX50's - haven't looked back, they were 100x better in sound.

Everyone has its own taste but this particular thing above make me doubt of the veracity and honesty of the whole review. Bose is known to have a somewhat "bass rich sound" which might be unpleasant for some but it is usually not recognised as "not great for sound". But eh, I would probably leave a similar review if I was working at Audio Technica ;-D
Edit for typos

Nope, they're good for studio monitoring. The review left here makes little sense because products are not for the same purpose.

I bought the bose, and my brother went for the Sony. Only a 2 1/2 hour flight so far, but we both agree either way that they were worth every penny (we struggled to justify them but one Thomson family flight later and I would happily paid double looking back)
We did a bit of swapping throughout the flight, personally I think the Sony sounded better, maybe slightly better on the noise cancelling too (although very slight) but the bose are much much more comfortable.
Hope this helps

You're joking aren't you? You think I work for AT, ahahah, check how long I've been on the site bud. I actually work for Mercedes Benz F1, Bose headphones sponsor Lewis Hamilton.
I thought they are bass lacking to be honest. Why would I lie? Just genuinely expressing my disappointment and how underwhelmed I was.
If you're looking for wireless and noise cancelling, look no further - but I care about sound quality.

Tried both these and the mdr1000x switching between the two for a good hour at john Lewis last week, and the sound on the Sony was much better imo. Holding out now and waiting for a deal to appear for the Sony. Hurry up and give me a deal!

Yes it's a joke. But if you don't see sarcasms, I can't do anything for you.
Plus as you point it out, you are just giving a neg review saying that another product is better for sound quality, that you care about sound quality and if we want wireless/noise cancellation, we should go for it. You're just comparing two products with a very different purpose. One is wireless with noise cancellation for when you travel, the other one is for studio monitoring with no noise cancellation and has a wire. It's a bit like comparing bananas and oranges: both are fruits but they won't have the same appeal to two different people who wants different thing. In the end, the Bose has a good sound quality no matter what you say, is wireless and has noise cancellation. Sure you can find a lot of headphones costing less with a better sound quality. But costing less with a better sound quality and wireless? It's harder suddenly.
TL;DR: Yes it was a joke. The comparison with the Audio Technica makes little sense.

Have you got a credit card that does minimal charges for foreign transactions? That way you could pay in Euros and get the bank rate.

I doubt it, but if they did it would only add aptx support and maybe an ambient sound mode if you want to hear what is going on around you. If those things matter to you then get the mdr1000x's as those are always on sale.

I believe Bose offers international warranty or you could also send it to Amazon's German warehouse for replacement.
