Three styles of this Balance Bike have been reduced to £29.99 and they are fab!
The BMXie balance bike doesn't compromise : a real BMX-styled bicycle frame, oversized tubing but extremely lightweight. Now fitted with Rubber skin tyres. Airless Rubber skin tyres are a new kind of tyre that gives you the best possible grip and you do not have to inflate them. A foam core means thay cannot puncture, an outside rubber layer makes them just like rubber tyres. Great grip and no pump!
Typical Argos, no stock anywhere, in my area anyway

I've got 3 kids.
I know next to nothing I didn't know pre-kids except for 2 things:
1. Routine is everything
2. Get them a balance bike as early as possible.
My first two went through the agony (to my back amongst other things) of stabilisers and learning to ride.
My 3rd had a balance bike when she was 3..,and could ride a pedal bike the second I put her on one on her 4th birthday.

Ordered at £29.99, and two days later my order got cancelled by Argos due to 'no stock'. I see it on the website now listed at £59.99. Utter sham artists.
I contacted them and they said I could re-order from the site and wouldn't re-instate my order.

My kids were 2 or 3 so there wasn't really a suitable bike to take pedals off.
My boy is now 10 and races BMX for our local team and is very skilled on a bike compared to his friends, some of whom have never ridden anything much.

never really seen the point of buying a balance bike, we just took the pedals off a normal bike then when they got the hang of it put the pedals back on
ourdave to worto03
30 May 17#25
Because there's still a cog and chain to get in their way as they're swinging their legs back. And usually the bars that the pedals go on.
But each to their own

no pedals, chain, crank, gears, bell, etc and yet it is dearer than a bike with stabilisers.

Balance bikes are great for kids, got one for our first child.
He was on it from about 18months, at about 2 1/2 he started to use a peddle bike with stabilizers every so often to get him use to peddling, at about 3 3/4 I took the stabilizers off and within 5 minutes he was off.
Now going through the same process with our second son.
Highly recommend a balance bike to anyone with young children.
I like the balance bikes from decathalon but this is a good price.

All kids should have these from as early as poss, awesome tools for teaching them how to use bikes. Got both mine on these from 2/3 and they are accomplished cyclists now.

Definitely so much quicker using a balance bike like this compared to the stabilisers route.

£30 is about right for a decent balance bike - I would ignore the RRP. You can get a decent balance bike from Halfords for around £30 - I think its the wizzer one. They are definitely worth getting as my son has learned the basics on this for about a year and next I will get him a bike with stabilizers, but I don't expect the stabilizers to be on too long.

These bikes have 12" wheels so are aimed at kids from 3 yrs old. So unless your 5 year old is relatively short they are likely to find these a bit small.

definitely. my 5 year old often tries to ride her brother's and her legs are much too long! much more suited for a 2 year old, even my 3 year old is nearly too big for it now.
