Good deal.
It annoys me there is no case for this - it just comes with the box and I can never quite wedge it back in as it was originally packed.
Anyone found a nice storage solution for it ?

Yep, B&D stuff pretty poor these days. I replaced mine with a WORX equivalent which is much more effective and is still going several years later. Came in a nice case with room for accessories too.
You were probably applying pressure rather than letting it use its own friction. It will have burnt out when it couldn't move freely.

had a couple of these tear drop Sanders but the Velcro just doesn't last IMO, tbf tho they was getting trade use, but a traditional clip on with sand paper is just more economical, still a good price for the diyers out there

These are poor quality - pretty much disposable as the velcro perishes and the base plastic rubs away - but for the price, why not - you could get a few good jobs out of this kit before having to but another

I had one of these, thought it was brilliant but loaned it to my dad who burnt out the motor :disappointed:
Prior to this I had been using it to sand down poly filler in my house and a variety of other exciting sanding duties - I honestly have no idea what dad did with it to kill it lol.
It definitely beat hand sanding the entire blooming house.
Rubbish these things fail after a short time. Also had a B&D drill fail in a couple of months. Cheap junk, save up and buy yourself a DeWalt or Makita.

these are really only designed for sanding wood and such like. not for plaster jobs. the plaster dust gets into the motor and somehow fuses with the mechanism. heats up and burns out the motor. i know. i used it for sanding plaster and noticed a burning smell coming from the mouse. i took the mouse apart and found the plaster had hardened to the motor and was overheating the machine. i cleaned it out and now only use it for sanding wood. it lasts forever if you you use it for what it was designed for, small jobs like skirting, doors and other wood furniture.
