Discounted whisky at Lidl (Ms threw away the receipt) of a decent single malt, 70cl and now £9.99 down from around £18. Flavour wise it's good, tastes a bit like Glenmorangie but a stronger/harsher end to the taste.
Not sure if local, but found in Lidl Portsmouth, Hilsea.

They checked the office too...I bet they're stashed somewhere - There were about 10 empty boxes on the shelves...
Spent all my money on the 12YO and 22YO Sherry Cask anyhoo...

hah just ask at the till for a price check, or go to buy it and leave it if its not what you hope for
if the 8yo is like the cognac in the box which was reduced from 25 to 15quid, the item wasn't kept in the stock room but in the office for security
they cant get those big push on security tags into the boxes so keep seperate

Just did this morning - Had to convince the manager who insisted that spirits were never reduced to half price...
Both 8YO and 12YO scanned at £9.99....so result - but...although there were lots of 8YO boxes on the shelves, they couldn't find any in the stock room (they almost gave me the 22YO Islay by accident, but spotted their mistake...Darn!)
I did get 6 bottles of the 12YO, though (The checkout lady had a couple for her dad, too...) So not a bad result, in the end.

Still at old price in Newport when I posted - so I checked a different branch and Glen Alba 22 year old was 1/2 price @ £14.99...so I bought 4...

Appears this is a national deal according to mySupermarket. Can't see it mentioned on Lidl's website though..
Not in Newport yet...wonder if it'll roll out? I'll keep checking...

If it's anything to go on, the 22 yo Islay and the 27 yo Speyside they had at Christmas was good. Ben Bracken is either Aberlour or Tamnavulin stock I think.

I've just been to the Chadderton store looking for this. Didn't have any left but did have the 12 year blend down to £10 from £20. Should be worth a try.

No chance even the snobbiest of snobs turn down this at £9.99. I won't put my good stuff in my regular hot toddies but this would work like a dream.
