Purchased an iPhone 6 Plus for my daughter from music magpie last month for only £199.
To be fair to them the condition of the phone was very good.unfortunately the charging cable was faulty, but after one phone call they sent out a brand new cable and even a brand new genuine Apple plug.

Aren't these 30 months old tech? Isn't technology similar to doggy years so this makes this phone an OAP.

Its an iPhone though, it'll still run apps and games faster than majority of Android's purely because 99% of Android devs wont take advantage of new hardware in the way iOS devs do.

What's the grading like on these? I bought a locked (EE) Very Good one (which shows as Grade B). Is it likely to be wrecked?
O2 has grade B for £225 PAYG. Would need to get an unlock - have mixed experience with O2 - never used Music Magpie before.

Any advantage over 6 plus? Or is it just that the 6 plus has a bigger screen?
Rickardo to alanwhite17
9 May 171#26
Bigger and higher definition screen, plus better camera and bigger battery, that I can think of.
MysticalUndies
9 May 171#27
You've got to admit it looks extremely dated now. 65% screen to body ratio, 8mp camera!, 1mp selfie camera and an amazing 1gb ram. Not to mention its 1800mah battery. Oh and how about the massive 4.7" screen. This is worse than most budget phones of today, but each to their own.
Lookinh to get my ma an iphone as she is not finding android intuitive at all. Surely the 6 itself will be able to do basic tasks like online banking/emails without too much delay, no gaming etc or is the 6s worth the upgrade?

i agree mystical its just apple branding holding its price in the market place.the screen size and all the other negs not for me ill wait for the s7 to drop a little more

thought apple kept its value better than android?
good news for me though
the gf wants an SE and if the price of the 6 and 6s are falling so should the SE
doesn't look like they're releasing an SE 2, since they just re-released with doubled storage (32 & 128GB vs 16 & 64GB on first gen SE)

That doesn't mean anything though, they bumped the Air 2 to 32GB for a few months before dropping it completely and the iPad 3 only lasted 6 months before replacement.
iPhone 6 is still perfectly good, but is starting to slow down, I would think 1-2 years more use before Apple ruins it with unnecessary updates - the 1GB RAM is a bit of a stinger and the battery will almost definitely be degrading but it's enough to get through a normal day. I don't think the 4.7" screen is a problem other than the weak body-to-display ratio but it's a very nice size otherwise.
Have done this three times and found no problems with credit score.

Maybe, but the battery will be long gone by then... And while it might 'last' that long with updates, it will slowly grind to a halt. Look at the 4s over its lifetime for example.

Did anyone else get one of these? What was the condition like?
I paid £190 for a "Very Good" locked one - it arrived today. The screen is perfect but the case is quite scratched up and pretty filthy (dirty & dust in speakers etc.). Just charging it up now so not sure how well it works yet.
Wondering if I would have been better off going with a "Perfectly Fine" from O2 although those are supposed to possibly have scratched screens.
ETA. checked battery - has 329 cycles on it - seems like it was manufacture just under 2 years ago.

I bought my daughter a 'good' one but silver locked to ee, which came this morning. Phone is immaculate apart from a couple of tiny scrathes on the top part of the phone, screen is perfect. Best part is I forgot to take her 3 sim to work this morning but just got home to look into getting it unlocked and looks like it's already unlocked  Thanks OP I have one very happy daughter.

Received a 'good' one today, tiny scratch on screen, but not something that will bother me, needed a bit of a clean around where someone had put a case on it, just trying to find a decent glass screen protector for it, ordered one for my daughter off amazon and it doesn't cover the entire screen, anyone got any recommendations? Thanks OP.

I have just received a 'good' condition iPhone 6 from Music Magpie and as well as having a very scratched screen, this is the condition of the rear!
The phone looks like it has been dropped onto a road and driven over! I am a first time customer at Music Magpie and very disappointed with the condition. The customer service team have assured me that it was a mistake that a handset in this condition was sent out (I believe that they can access pictures of the item and seemed genuinely shocked). I would not have accepted it based on the scratched screen alone. I have agreed to let Music Magpie attempt to rectify the situation by sending out another better condition iPhone 6 (obviously after I waste my time going to the post office to return this one!), and will update this thread with the outcome (and more pictures!).

They just refunded my money and said they had no more 'good' condition phones left in stock (despite there appearing to be some listed on the website!). I was not impressed with their customer service and will not be using them again. If you make a purchase, I hope you don't receive the one that I returned!
