Bought at £4.99 last month and is still sitting patiently in my come-in-handy-sometime drawer.

Just tried out mine on an old MacBook Air vintage 2010. This can get 5GHz and tops out at 50Mbps download from a 200Mbps Virgin router. The dongle struggles to get over 5Mbps whether on 5GHz or 2.4GHz. Not impressed.

Haha. Yes, unfortunately that's true. I've got quite a few duplicates, don't tell anyone though.

That's just not in the spirit of HUKD. You need at least one spare as a come-in-handy.
These are actually really good, bought one on the last deal for like £4, made my speeds skyrocket compared to my 2g dongle, especially my ping (but tbf I was using a old mini usb reciever) but this is well worth the money, probably the only downside is the range, it's just about average, luckily my router isn't too far away from it, but others may struggle.

Got this for my Sony Vaio Windows 10 laptop when it was last on offer. Completely transferred my laptop, wifi connectivity is so much quicker, getting ridiculously quick speeds too and all I did was plug it in and nothing else.

I bought this thinking it would be better than my compact TP link one, it wasn't.

Depends which version of Windows you are on. Installed automatically for me on two different Windows 10 PCs. I believe earlier versions may need a separate driver download but not sure

Immediate heat added. I bagged one of these in the last lightning deal, and it's been an excellent little performer.....and another one is now on its way!
And using a USB extension lead you could position this in a better place for reception instead of next / behind the desktop etc.

pretty average for this, as noted it's frequently been £5.99 before and at least once £4.99 too. Decent adaptors though so could do worse if you absolutely must have one now, otherwise probably best wait for it to go lower....

Anyone know the range on this sort of thing?
Router is in the downstairs living room and my pc is in my bedroom. Currently use a wifi dongle TP-Link N300 its okay but definitely not the best. Currently get about 3 mbps.

Under £100 so possibly not. Serious or rhetorical?
