I'll give this a try thus weekend with fully flexible ticket. Ba charges £15 as a fee to cancel. It's a risk of £15 only. If it works, profit if £85

Update; lodged complaint at Amex; got email today complaint has been closed: I had zero contact from them. When they checked said no notes or any detail so closed issue hoping I'd go away. Big mistake: so now told them I have complaint raised against original complaint and expect call back within 24hours. Do not open a new case! Reopen current and bang it out of sla .... this is going to get bumpy fast....

What amazes me is the deal in the US for a BA card is JPMorgan Visa. You get 50k avions welcome bonus, no charges when using visa for buying tickets and card is free vs UK Amex where card is less accepted, 20k avois and card is £195 a year. Whole thing stinks. I've an even better story where BA charged me £1000 premium to fly to NZ from LHR where my parents flew identical trip but started in Toulouse through LHR and BAs explanation was "cost of living difference between UK and FR means we pay a higher ticket rate.... so essentially the message here is BA penalises Brits to use their own branded airline....

Completely agree - i just ripped Amex a new one - and stated WTF with all the BA money i spend - i jsut booked £1000+ tickets on amex 2 days ago!! Manager offered a one off £50 credit... i told him to Fk off and poke it. No more AMEX and no more BA - i am done with these @rsholes - PS gold status - woopdi-doo - they still ram ALL levels onto the plane at the same time unless you fly 1st (which i rarely do now as its no better than business) - 2 years of BA BS - fed up. Moving to Star Alliance - pity I'll lose 400k+ airmiles but those are useless too

Ive almost had it with BA, robbing b******s.
They don't care about peoples loyalty as this deal shows. And making us pay for our GnT's and calling it an 'enhancement' ... they must think people are thick to swallow that crap!
If it wasn't for the fact I am silver, so get in the lounge so I can take 4 beers and some bags of crisps on board with me to f*** BOB - then I wouldn't bother flying them ever again... robbing gits

Not in my blue AMEX BA card. It's a bit annoying as I spend loads with BA and am a Silver exec member. So why haven't they offered me the deal?

Maybe you've answered your own question? Unfortunately it might be to encourage new(er) customers rather than reward those who are big spenders with them already  You could try calling Customer Services to explain your disappointment and see if they can manually add it?

Does anyone know if I can top up my purchase to £500 (to qualify for the cashback) by making a donation to BA's charities, as offered at checkout?
My flights are coming in at £499.33 (who'd believe it?), so I am 67p away from saving £100.

The guy on phone emailed the promo department to see if it can be done. I've heard of people successfully getting offers added before.. so hold out hope.
Interestingly he mentioned another BA offer (exactly the same as this) which has yet to come into effect - starting next month until July.. wonder if that will materialise

What if I book avios club world redemption using avios + taxes (say £550) for Dubai and then cancel it? From ba perspective they refund all avios and card charge after deducting £35. Basically net profit of £65, only if Amex doesn't take £100 statement credit back.

Give it a try and let us know.
From experience I have returned something, received a refund and kept the Amex statement credit, it was a smaller amount with a different retailer so you do so at your own risk

Not always.
BA holidays especially can work out very competitive against a no frills airline plus your own hotel. Another trick is to add a car for a short trip, can work out a lot cheaper then flight alone :/

Guys what do you suggest? Can I buy ba evouchers for future use? Will I be able to use it for pay for tickets when I use part pay using avios?

Do you have a link for the BA evouchers, is it through BA.com?
I looked into buying Avios points last time, but didn't go for it in the end and if you look back at the discussion there I don't think anyone did. Might need a volunteer!

It's only available on the free blue card I think. As it didn't come up on my gold or platinum plus account. But did come up on the blue card.
