They'll refund whatever you paid, all my purchases involved some sort of (promotional) voucher code, so my refund is £46.28 or £52.50 if I opted for a Amazon Video voucher instead
Don't think they did gift vouchers did they?

Can probably own them on blu-ray for a similar amount (used via the usual outlets), and that would be freehold not leasehold like these.

I probably didn't clarify myself very well, but as you say you need the Amazon Video app running on supported devices. I use Amazon Prime and often download movies to watch off-line. However, as I understand it I can't download this movie to my hard drive and connect it to my TV to play as I do with my other digital content.
You have to use the Amazon Video app to download and play or stream it. Unlike the music I purchase which I can download and add to my media library or copy, play on A N Other device or burn to a disc. You are therefore tied to using the Amazon app.
You used to be able to use Amazon unbox for downloading to your PC. I didn't realise you couldn't do this now after finding people moaning about it on-line.
^ everything up to £5 here - can adjust the price up/down as required

Does anyone have any idea if the BBC store refund purchases made with voucher codes?

You can 100% download. You need the latest Amazon Video app. I download mine over mobile data and its still quick.
Bought and downloaded 3 movies at lunchtime.

What I found annoying (after making a purchase!) is that you can't download the video you now own to a local device/drive, which I'm led to believe you could a while back. You can only stream it much in the same way as Wukai operate.
I guess most people will know this but thought I'd mention it in case anyone didn't and was thinking that once you purchase your film you could download it like you can with music and add it to your media library.

I would lve to build up a digital collection instead of doing myself via plex but put of by them closing one day and losing my outlay

**pr10rflanker** the full refund is good, but how do you use the voucher, unless they offer rentals too?
Dave to congrevecv

It's a full refund to your original payment method, or a refund (and a bit extra, in my case it was £6.22) as a Amazon Video voucher

Looks like BBC Store they are offering a full refund on the purchases made, and an additional voucher incentive.

**pr10rflanker** the BBC closeing their on line service 'High 5'. In my experience not before time. They accept small orders from me i.e. a DVD or blu, I choose delivery to my p.o. box, the order goes through, appears to be all good, then up to a day or two later I receive an email to say the order is cancelled.

The physical media service closed a year back. Since that time they became a digital download service only, with some good regular offers, and a broad range of programmes/series on offer. Being digital, any of the old issues with delivery/stock went away, and you could access purchases immediately.
I've not seen a streaming service cease before (flixster went, but UV codes are also covered byTalkTalk and CinemaNow apps), so curious to know if there is any protection as we all build up larger and larger digital collections.

I think Amazon have just copied Google video and shaved a free pennies off. Also you missed aliens in the attic which is probably the most fun out of all the cheapies right now at £1.95.

On the downside, BBC Store, sent out an email today saying their online service would close in November. Not sure what that means about existing purchases, but doesn't look good.
