Was looking for a 144hz 1440p monitors (eagerly awaiting AMD Vega) so checked Amazon's Spring warehouse clearance and came across this. Thought I'd take the chance. If its got the dreaded bleed it shouldn't be an issue with Amazons customer service, so shall be returned.

Looking for a 1440p 144hz monitor myself since I'll be in a position to spend some ££££ in a few months time ...
Are there any scaling issues in Windows @1440p on a 27"?
Been using my own rig that I built a few years ago but never upgraded my monitor so I am so used to 1080p @ 23" wondering if the resolution and monitor size bump would be a shock to the system
Need a GPU upgrade too (currently have gtx 780) might be switching to AMD once Vega releases )

none of the 1440p IPS 28" fast refresh screens are fit for consumers, they all have terrible backlight bleed, often yellow in the corners. All the warehouse ones will have been returned for that very reason.

No scaling issues at 1440p & 27 is a good size for that res too

I was looking at this and after reading some of the reviews and doing a bit of research decided not to.
There are 9 used deals on this (There was 11+ yesterday). Stop yourself for a minute and ask yourself why so many?
Well, that's because many of these have awful backlight bleed to the point where your monitor looks like Homer Simpson. On top of that, dead pixels galore (Which don't come under manufacturer warranty unless over a certain number).
Save yourself the money and hassle, you'll only end up getting a rubbish one someone else has returned and have to return it yourself.

Yea you could be right. I did think along the same lines as yourself.
Peoples tolerance of bleed is different so if it has been returned for that reason then I hope its a small amount in which case won't bother me. I'll know by end of tomorrow
The reviews on Amazon aren't the greatest but having looked through a few across the interweb I decided it was worth a shot. Added security that its from Amazon so returning won't be an issue.

I bought one and it came in today described as without having any cosmetic imperfections. Which was true but it had 2 dead pixels. Having to box it back up and return it..

Luck of the draw I suppose. Like you, any dead pixels and I'll be returning it and shall continue the hunt for a 144hz 1440p freesync monitor at an affordable price...sigh

Stopped myself getting one of these. Like others have said these are extremely likely to be bad returns considering how many people have had issues with them.

Arrived today. Seems I got lucky as haven't noticed a single dead pixel or any bleed when running tests :sunglasses: . Didn't come with a UK plug unfortunately. It does seem someone opened it just to test as only the plug bag was open. So has me thinking I may be missing something so gonna run further tests tonight

No bleed at all? I'd be very surprised.

Done further checks in the dark. Small amount bottom right corner but it is really small. There's IPS glow which is normal. I actually think it may have been returned because of the glow being confused with bleed. I've checked it with a few games and I'm happy it won't be an annoyance. Going to try a couple films tonight. As is, I'm very happy with it.

Can't seem to get anywhere near this price on that link? 429.99 is lowest used and no discount applies. Any specific instructions or has this expired?
