The music licenses for Alan Wake are expiring. As a result, the game is going to be taken out of physical and digital retail. Alan Wake’s American Nightmare will stay in retail.90% off “Sunset Sale” for Alan Wake on Steam 13.–15.5.2017
QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
What exactly is being discounted?
The Alan Wake Franchise including Alan Wake, all DLC, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare
Will you bring Alan Wake back to stores?
We are looking into relicensing the music for Alan Wake, but have no timeframe for this.
What happens to Alan Wake’s American Nightmare / Will other Alan Wake SKU’s also disappear?
Alan Wake’s American Nightmare will remain in stores. Remedy negotiated the music licensing for Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, we did not negotiate the licensing for Alan Wake’s licensed music.
As for discounted locations Steam and GOG have been previously confirmed, but there's also The Humble Store. They've has reduced their prices by 90% too! Plus 10% to charity is pretty good.
The description of the AW Franchise bundle at WinGameStore doesn't mention the Collector's Edition Extras (Developer Commentary Videos, Illustrated PDF Book, Soundtrack http://store.steampowered.com/app/108726/Alan_Wake_Collectors_Edition_Extras/ ) b̶u̶t̶ ̶i̶t̶ ̶m̶a̶y̶ ̶c̶o̶n̶t̶a̶i̶n̶ ̶t̶h̶e̶m̶ It does not contain the Collector's Edition Extras. (Thanks whorlow for info).
The Gamersgate sale price is available until 11PM BST, I don't know about WinGameStore.
So for sub £3.00 you'll end up with all Alan Wake items as the Franchise packs on Steam and Humble. :sunglasses:

Missed this but bought a key off of G2A. I know they have mixed reviews, but it worked for me. Paid £3.35 (including UK VAT and additional PayPal charge and without the G2A shield they offer). Hope this helps anyone else who missed out. Would have posted a link but don't want to get banned.

All content at OP's price may not be possible - unless there is another store selling the Collector's Edition Extras very cheaply as Gamersgate were before 11PM, or the complete Franchise bundle.
At the moment it seems the best bet would be to purchase from WinGameStore (their Franchise bundle = Alan Wake + American Nightmare) and if you really want the Collector's Edition Extras (Dev commentary video, illustrated pdf book, soundtrack) wait until it goes on sale, as it remains purchasable.
If you can't wait for it, then for a little less than £5, purchase from both WinGameStore and Bundlestars :disappointed:, and do something with the extra Alan Wake base game key...
It may happen that other stores will sell a discounted complete Franchise bundle now that Steam & Humble have had their turn and the opportunity to sell it over in a matter of hours...
It doesn't contain the Alan Wake's American Nightmares dlc.
Where do i get all of the content for the ops price?

They haven't chosen not to. It would be Microsoft who have to do that and Microsoft aren't interested.
Lothra
15 May 17#57
Impossible without them going back and reworking the entire game, the music is integral to the game and how its "episodes" work.
The only was is for them to re-licence the music, which they may do in the future but for now they have chosen not to.

I don't think you understand, that only applies to digital and physical new copies,(although i haven't seen new copies of Alan Wake in years) brick and mortar stores are still allowed to sell used copies of the game, and people will be able to continue to buy it in the future.
I have seen this happen countless times over the decades, stores won't just stop selling their used disc copies of the game lol saying otherwise is just gonna get people panicked for no reason.

If anyone is wondering whether or not they should buy it, you should. It's a great game - imagine Silent Hill if it was a Stephen King novel.
Also, if you're a Humble Monthly subscriber you get an extra 10% off, so Alan Wake for £2.06, American Nightmare for £0.62, Franchise Pack for £2.69, plus of course some will go to charity - either 5% to charity and 5% refunded to your wallet or 10% to charity, your choice.
I think technically stores won't be allowed to sell new copies anymore, but I imagine very few stores will still have new copies of a 7 year old game and the few that do still have copies might just get away with it.
It shouldn't affect second hand copies because they've already been paid for, so you should still be able to get the Xbox 360 version from Cex, etc. Note that you won't be able to get the PC version second hand as it's a Steamworks game - the PC retail version just came with a Steam key, which would have been used by the first owner. If you do happen to find an unused PC copy after today, the Steam key inside should still work and let you add the game to your Steam library (I've done that before with other games removed from the Steam store, such as the original Prey).

15 May 171#49

"Remedy, the developer of Alan Wake, has announced that it has to remove the game from the Steam and Xbox stores due to a licensing issue with the game’s music.
As of May 15, the game will no longer be sold in physical stores, on the online Xbox Store, or on Steam. If you already physically own the game you can, of course, keep it and be safe in the knowledge that a music corporation isn’t about to raid your home. "
