B&M Optimum (own brand?) 4 USB Mains Charger, 4.8amp.
Marked up at £11.99, recently on sale for £3.50 but found in store today (Redditch) at just £1 each! At least a dozen there today in various colours (black, white, blue, pink ....).
Box states output as 2.4A (total) plus 2.4A (total), so I guess the 4 outputs are in two shared pairs.
Proper printed shelf edge labels so I'd think this is national where stock remains (though note this is a larger store - smaller store may not stock this item?). Sorry, B&M's website search is hopeless so can't link.
Got to be worth a quid of anyone's money!
Edit: that photo is NOT the relevant item.

You should move your bed away from the wall so you can get out of the right side of it!

Yes! As stated, something wrong here as I edit it to read correctly but still comes up as above. I even tried deleting the headline and retyping but the incorrect one keeps on re-appearing.
For confirmation it's £11.99 to £3.50 to £1!
Sorted now!

B&M staff are utter idiots. Never shopping there again.

Yeah - I'm forever passing over incredible deals because the store staff have a low IQ

22,500 B&M staff generalised just like that, wow. It's nice you have perspective on whatever misdeed befell you in a B&M store one. Could they not find a pot noodle in a flavour you liked or something?

Because that's relevant to the deal....... I do not care if they don't smile or do not understand what a GCSE is.... I want them to take the Queens head printed on a new shiny 8 sided £1 coin, give me a piece of paper (if required) to prove such a sale, and skip forever happily out the door to be hit by a bus.

Again B&M.
Having experiencing a few times hunting the B&M deal, I am almost certain that this is a local deal and likely it is a single store deal.
Was hoping that was going to be Belfast city centre store.

Yep, that's the one - not the picture someone posted with the listing. Thanks.

I'd be careful buying cheap chargers I had a SWEES one off amazon that slowly killed my laptop and phone and that got great reviews.

How did you know that the budget charger killed your laptop, phone slowly and not because of frequent charging and/or using a high amperage charge which the battery is not designed for ? I have been using a replacement charger from eBay and do not see that problem.
Any info, link from authoritative articles will be helpful ...

Yep, it's usually the trouble with cheapo USB stuff - I got a 99p Sd card reader from 99p Stores that corrupted and thus destroyed ALL the data on a full-size SD card. Also used a USB hub that corrupted some data on another device, but that was a hand-me-down from someone. USB is not the most robust of connections, I guess, so cheapo stuff is gonna be a danger sometimes.

I think you've eloquently completed your portrait for the rest of us here. Well done.
On another note - bought 3 last night for £1 each. They work perfectly well and haven't set fire to my house yet. Thanks, OP.
I finished watching it. Mind to tell at what minutes it tells it kills laptop, phone battery slowly ??
Need to differentiate between very cheap charger does not meet safety standard with the one which is cheap but safe to use. It is a two different thing. Remember about Samsung tablet exploded on a plane due to battery fault ??.
I agree that some charger out there are not safe. But many charger sold around the original price of this item are safe.
Here is an authoritative source mentioning various causes effecting battery life. It does not mention abut buying a reasonably cheap but god safety standard charger.
It is not hard to see that the original price of this battery is decent and not very cheap though. It is £1 because it is a clearance sale.

By slowly I mean the battery life started to lose charger faster and faster after about a month it failed to hold any charge for longer than an hour.
I didnt realise it was charger related until I saw that video of the exact charger causing issues for others.
I had initially put it down to Asus as both were Asus, but it makes sense that it would have been the charger if it was pushing too much current through it would strain the battery.
For reference the Swees charger was £15 at the time.
